It appears the water was running under the Winnie so fast, it created a bow wave high enough to force it's way in around the edges of the lid.

I assumed it was waterproof to achieve the Australian certification, but you know what assuming means .....
I was going to buy a replacement unit from Bunnings, can't remember the brand, it had an IP65 rating, but it was more than twice the price of the depower unit .... the specs say it is waterproof and can be used indoors and outdoors, but no actual IP rating https://depow.com.au/products/de-portab ... 5a-plug-v2
I will be sealing the cables each end and around the lid with T Rex when I collect it in Mannum when we get back there.

Is raining Dottie .... but I did get some stuff sort of packed, and discovered I needed to add some method of loading stuff into the A frame area of the trailer ....

First attempt was with lengths of truck ratchet strap material attached each side of the A frame, after fitting two lengths, it was clear that it would sag too much and making a web off east west straps and north south straps, was gunna take for ever

Revised plan was to get stainless wire re-enforcing mesh and attach that each side of the A frame ..... the end closest to the tilt tray, the widest part of the A frame now has the mesh attached each side .... then it started to rain real heavy, so play was abandoned .... it is still raining

T1,
You may remember the tilta-trailer on which I delivered Jim.
I had a drawbar basket added to it soon after buying it.
Engineer friend welded it in, made of light concrete reo mesh (3mm stuff) with about 25~30mm squares & 12mm Square RHS reinforcement under to prevent sagging.
He had a sheet folder in his business, so folded the mesh to the full height of the drawbar, folded across the top and down the outside where he welded the rods down. This made the basket base sit level with the bottom of the drawbar. Neat! And the way he folded & welded it in there was no way was it going to bounce off!
I used bungee cords to tie down firewood, and strapped down other (more valuable) odds & sods occasionally.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Much like yesterday and nearly ever day here so far this trip .... it rained. I did finish attaching that section of the wire mesh basket ... in hindsight, I would have been a lot better off buying the sheet of concrete reo mesh and welding it on .... The next part is to fill in up to under the spare tyre, with a bit of luck and the rain eases for a bit, I hope to get that completed tomorrow, but my back and legs are absolutely stuffed, hope a night's sleep will settle them down ......

You miss me that much Dottie? I hope we can get this mod for the trailer finished and out of here today, the rain is forecast to continue until Saturday, that would require a very quick trip home to arrive in time for Margaret's Tuesday appointment .....

How can there be a bow wave? Like a tidal flood or tsunami?

Let's hope for a successful launch today.
