Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Terry thank you for the interesting suggestions. I need to perhaps be more precise about this precious twenty year old tree. It is approx 4 metres high and six metres across, espaliered to a boundary fence. I would not wish to annihilate the tree with most of your suggestions. The neighbour who owns the house next to it, would be out in a flash, if I started to use any heating implements. Obviously, I am not climbing a ladder to become a sadistic killer and I haven't seen the sticky pad things in the shops that I visit. I am still hopeful of finding a way less toxic solution as I want the tree to survive as well.

Today's visit to gp was as expected. He told me I have a throat and chest infection (that's what I already told him) and he has given me a stack of drugs to fight the infections. That included a fancy inhaler thing to get the chest clear and stronger antibiotics than the instant script bird would give me. I know that they have very strict rules, so not too unhappy about it. I need stronger stuff and certainly for much longer than the five days max that they are allowed to give. Referrals were written and spots frozen on both of our faces, money exchanged hands and we were out of there. The trip to the chemist to collect all the drugs was expensive, but necessary.

Once home, I packed up all the new things that need to go with us tomorrow for the stall and we are all set. As Gosford is an hour away, we will sleep at home. Being last weekend of school hols, caravan parks there are all over $100 per night, so not happening for us. The truck wasn't unpacked after the last show because our daughter was going to sleep in the room that we dump all of the crates. That makes tomorrow easier because the truck is ready to rock n roll, no extra loading needed.

Maybe the idea with the strong hose, but a pressure washer spraying the car wash soap, them collecting them in the bucket of soapy water ...... no idea how you will get to the 20 mtr high parts ..... Reread the post, 20 yrs old, not 20 mtrs high, I'm sure one of those car washer pressure washers will get the 4 mtrs ... Once they are under control, perhaps that might be spider and bird territory

I might try the old Lux soap or flakes in warm water to spray on any bugs I see, Isn't the soapy water supposed to suffocate the bugs?and I have heard that adding garlic also helped. Well today was another waste of time, nothing got done as I still couldn't wake up until 4pm. Gave my M8 in NZ a short call to wish her a happy birthday and she was having a meal with some friends. It was a bit windy today and still no rain. George managed a couple more barrow fulls of mulch so it is getting done slowly but surely. Sounds like your Dylan is improving NC George. Off to a nice shower now so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Riverlander x :D

The Jag is on the trailer and now between Big Bus and the 20ft container. The taxi Prius has the wheel trolleys under the front and dragged forward, and the sheets of roofing and solar panels have been moved away from the concrete slab side of the container, ready for me to get the tautliner frame out of the way and drag the container onto the slab ..... so, a big day today, I'll probably sleep till mid day .... but then, it is Bathurst weekend 8-)

Thanks for the added extra ideas Dot, they will be tried Monday when we are "free" The amount of palmolive that I have aimed at them has done nothing. The buggers don't even move a wing. Take it slowly and all will get done, is becoming my motto of late. Only a couple of barrows per day, it will happen...just a bit slower that you want it xxxx

Terry, interesting idea, BUT the bugs are eating away at the the new growth and the buds . The pressure washer might shift the pests, but decimate the tree, so not really happy to try that idea. Thanks for all the thoughts and the time that you have spent trying to find a solution is appreciated.

Today was set out the stall day. PITA. Nothing seemed to go as planned and we had a few dramas. One of the earring display racks has broken off it's base. A lot of harsh words and then a total rearranging of the earrings displays. It all worked out eventually , but it really was a pain. Next issue was the lighting. We always have problems at this venue. Their tables are old and our lights don't slip into place very easily. Today, there was more angst than usual. This is the only venue that the lights are an issue, so I am not buying more lights just for here. I am going to do a bit of a reassessment after Sunday trading. Unless we are hugely happy, this might be our last time here. It just seems there are more hassles and hurdles that have to be jumped every time we come here.

Time for some sleep, early start tomorrow and Sunday, so don't expect any human like comments for the weekend.
Night all xxx

Hi Dot. A few days ago Evie and us went for a trip down into Vic. with the idea of going up to Rutherglen to catch up with Ray and Joy and coming back on the top side of the river. Noticed a noise coming from the front pass. side wheel at the end of the first day that turned out to be the front strut on the way out so we spent a couple of days around Sea Lake and came home again. Will be fixed on Friday. Riverland Rose Festival up here at the moment and I have offered the help with a display over 3 days from Thursday as the people that do it are all getting older and need a few extra hands. Other than that we are keeping out of trouble and behaving ourselves. Goodnight All. Cheers John

Another late awakening and again nothing done by me. Brian kept me pinned in. I watched the doco on Steve McQueen , he was gorgeous and so talented to die at 50. Deborah I did another spray of the very small amounts of returned little bugs on 1 particular hoya, not nearly as many so I would say I have had success but will keep checking them daily. John did the strut have a crack in it? Your MH isn't that old is it? Some BOB's on tomorrow night so I am going to make sure G wakes me up if I am snoozing again :D Lit the fire tonight it got a bit chilly but the electric blanket will be on soon   Picked a lovely big bunch of sweet peas and they smell lovely  For those that will be watching Mt Panorama tomorrow enjoy it, I gave it up when they stopped the Red v Blue plus I have trouble recognizing the cars. Anyone have any news on Gizzy? Off for a shower now so take care and goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Tanks x :D

Dot, how I wish I had had a late awakening. Brian is doing a great job of keeping you resting and not pushing too many barrows around the garden. hugs from me to Brian. xxxx

Today started out like any other trading day...too early. We arrived with 15 minutes to spare and luckily found a good spot to park the car. The rest of the day went to hell and back. From what we have learnt, the football oval across the road from the club was having October fest. All the car parking spaces with in cooee were totally used up, so our customers couldn't get to us and they went home. It was a super slow day. We had two sales and both were earrings. The second person paid for one pair of earrings, but managed to take a second pair while I was wrapping the first. As it was such a slow day, I was able to keep the racks completely full, so when I went to refill the rack and saw the spaces for two pairs of earrings, I was peed off. At least she paid for one pair of earrings. Not totally a write off, but not one of our better days. Hoping for a busier day tomorrow.

Dot, SVG is happily racing Nascars in US still. He is teaching them how to destroy a set of tyres after he wins a street race over there. I don't think he's won on an oval yet. Except in a Sprintcar. He's done a bit of oval track speedway in NZ when he goes home in the off season.
Cheers
