Good on you John and Faye for doing that. Most of the rural fire services, doesn't matter where they are, need a bit of assistance with fund raising.
Cheers

What sort of lizard is it Dot? Sounds like Brian will have company for a while. How's your Kiwi mate? Good to see you enjoyed the tear maker movie. xxxx
John and Faye that is wonderful community service. I am confused tho, Were you doing this for Royal Flying Docs or the fire service?
As promised, we had a super sleep in and did diddly squat for the day. Went up to the IGA and bought a delicious lasagne for dinner and the rest of the day was very quiet.
Tomorrow the pressure is on. We will be outta here by 10flaming AM and on the road to Port Macquarie. We will be getting ready for a big weekend of trading (hopefully) and we are going to be set up for a week there so it will be a semi holiday as well.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Always around to help your community John and Faye well done.
Our Brian sitter arrived for the night on her way to another friends place. Had many laughs about life and our old age ailments. Nice drop of rain today. Was given 3 zucchini plants from neighbours at the back, they grow everything from seed even loofers which they use for dish cloths.I rang one of our MP's today to complain about the councils demanding big bucks by insisting that reg monumental masons do any work on graves. The man did ring me back as promised and said he had looked at some paperwork and agreed the costs were unreasonable. He said he would be contacting the Mayor for more info, he also asked what we would do if we were allowed to do it ourselves so told him it would be done like the grave next to Aunty Beryls ie her parents. Told him if we get no satisfaction I would be contacting the TV mob he agreed:) That was my day. Deborah hope you have a good rest between markets and the lizard is a blue tongue. We now have 2 little baby blackbirds hatched and 1 egg to go as long as the mongrel wattle bird or crow doesn't get them. Looks like we are in for some hot weather soon. Even got 3 loads of washing done today
My scooter (gopher) has new batteries so now they just need to be hooked up and away we go
even have my flags attached
Goodnight everyone x

Oops, my bad.
Ever better for the Royal Flying Doctor, not the rural fire dept.
Neither of those organisations get enough govt support.
Cheers

Well done John, I have to agree
Can't even imaging trying to get my head around organising such an event though .... but I'd certainly attend
T1 Terry
A beer and wine appreciation BBQ would more to my liking, a donation for each can or stubby dragged in but ice could be supplied, even an ice bucket for the wine bottles .... for a donation of course, same with the BBQ and get the local Lions club to do the catering ..... soft drinks etc like the Bunning sausage sizzle ..... but it would require licencing and RSA people to actually sell cans of beer or plastic cups of wine from a cask, so that would need to be sorted somehow.... maybe the local drinking establishments might come on board ..... then donate all that to the RFD and local fire people ......Didn't go to the high tea as drinking tea out of fancy cups, eating cup cakes and songs from the 50's musicals is not my scene.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Agreed Dot, I think plastic cups and straws were banned eons ago. But maybe for safety the service of beers at footy matches would be exempt from that sort of ban. I certainly cannot buy disposable plastic anythings anywhere that I have looked. Hope you get some sleeping in soon xxxx
No sleep in for us today, We had to be on the road by 10 am, well we did leave the caravan park at 10:45. Neither one of us was in any hurry. Arrived in Port for a fun afternoon setting up the van and making it secure for a week long stay. I am hoping to get to my fav shop in town that sells happy pants and that is about all that we have planned for the next few days. Friday is set up the stall day, so there's no rush to get that started either.
I wasted a couple of hours trying to get my adds onto the local f**kbook pages with them being from my business page. It took a lot of fiddle farting, but all done now. Hopefully that will not be as difficult next year.
