Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Good morning.
Not much to report today, we went and spent a few hours with our son...he seems to be coping with the New circumstance he now lives with... still apprehensive about going to bed of a night... wondering if he will wake up... will take some time to get his head around it.
We went to Bunnings on the way home 😡😡 wallet $500 lighter... don't ask...
Still no rain...
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Morning all.

Nigel says, windy down south. that's about it.

Good to hear Bernie. Part of the situation is still believing in your body and it's ongoing strength. aka: not slipping into self doubt.

Mornin’ all!
A “nothing” day for us today.
Nigel said today we’re going to be hit with cyclone-strength winds and heavy rain. BoM issued a “Destructive Wind” warning. I even moved our outdoor furniture under shelter!
So where is it???
We have ‘Christmas carol’ weather here: all is calm.
Very light cloud cover, too. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Regards & God bless,
Ray

native pepper wrote: Tue Oct 21, 2025 5:24 pm Had a huge storm last night, winds over 120kph and today, a yacht about 10m long was washed up on the shore. Turns out it's a S/S yacht and the bloke didn't have a clue how to get it off the beach, the keel had dug into the sand but it was moving in the small waves, so only the beach side of the keel was trapped and the waves were keeping the sand from engulfing the keel completely. He said he was going to get a tug from Hobart to tow it off, but I suggested he get in his dinghy, put the anchor in and take it out as far as he could, them put strain on the anchor so his boat doesn't wash further onto the sand and when the tide come in wind the anchor winch in so it pulls the bow round into the waves and then he can winch it off the beach as the tide rises using the motor and anchor. High tide today is about 1m, so he would have a chance of it working

Be interesting to see if he got it off tomorrow.

We has Nigel's winds here this morning, at least it seems to have blown the rain away for the moment.

The strength and sudden gust speeds today has me rethinking the whole positioning of the containers and the dome ...... across the slab so the strong winds go up and over the dome rather than in one end and out the other. It will be a pain in the butt getting the Winnie in and out and Big Bus will have to find a new spot to live, but we got them in the workshop with the door facing that way, so we should be able to get the Winnie in there and back out again.

Good morning everyone. None of those high winds here yet, maybe later in the week.
Sitting outside the dental place waiting for the gkid to get his braces tuned up, then drop him at school.
Not much else to report, so far.
Safe travels everybody, happy hump day.

Terry, is there enough room out the front to back the Winny in from the road. I can't remember.
Cheers

Enough room for the Winnie and the trailer as far as I remember, with room still available to open the gates, but the back of the trailer is real close to the edge of the road then, but it is 16 mtrs long all up .....

Just went and paced it out, 16 mtrs from the gate open would still put the back of the trailer, just on the safe side of the white posts ..... those one that get flatten every time some brings a caravan or 5 'er in or out of the yard

The distance from the slab to the fence is the difficult part, 10 mtrs of Winnie x 2.5mrs wide, doesn't go real well into 9 mtrs from fence to slab, so a lot of shuffling and hand waving required from both sides of the vehicle, but we did get an 11 mtr one in the 3.5 mtr doorway to the shed, so we will have a bit more manoeuvring room side to side because there will be a 7 mtr gap between the containers and 9.5 mtrs depth with the 20 ft container making up the end wall, so the same as we had in the workshop with the shower and toilet block at the end wall. Won't be as much dancing room as there was each side of a big rig that the workshop had, there was 9.5 mtrs between the stairs and the mezzanine railing on the other side .......

Never realised just how big the workshop was, a 40 ft container wide, 2 x 40 ft and a 20 ft container long, and 2 containers high at the walls ......

I think our wind is coming from the south west, but since my brain got rattled, reading a compass doesn't come easily  Head can't hold enough information to make the calculations using Google maps compass ..... it would be so much easier if the put the 4 points rather than just red faces nth and white faces south

Looking on Google maps, the street view shows the hedge that has become a tree, satellite view shows the workshop burnt down and looking from Ramm Rd, the street behind, the workshop is still there ...... :?
