Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Busy day after I got up.
Off to Birdwood for Dr appointment where she was eager to share my recent blood results Now to have an U/Sound of belly as bloods came back as Deterioration of LFT's (liver) CT showed hepatic stenosis post choley. Also Cholesterol up so who knows what is going on and I am just so bloody sick of everything so bugger more tests until we have our break away (tiredness is also a result) Then we visited our fav op shop came home with 2 cushion covers and one brand new top ($2) but we ran out of time and had to get back to Mt Barker before the Service SA placed closed to get my medical cert for the MR re checked. Then went shopping for our away time. Now home and really knackered so an early night for me so Goodnight everyone x
Goodnight jd & Phoenix. xx

Geez Dot, after reading that test result, you could even be the town drunk. You certainly have no reason to get such rotten liver levels, so keep a watch on it mate. The holiday starts now... xxxx
Today was an early-ish start with a visit to his brother & SIL for morning tea, All good there.
After a quick lunch, we went to panthers club and started on the setting up. It's always a weird space with 3 large-ish tables and barely room behind them for one chair. The glass is on display and we will see how it goes. Saturday is usually manic, so here's hoping for some big sales. We have to be out of bed at almost sunrise, but we won't be late. Looking forward to some mischief and fun with a lot of lovely locals, who are all sharing in the aim of raising funds for the endeavour mental health group. Happy with being part of that.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
The diesel heater problem has been identified, but not yet fixed.
The feed-out hose has denatured and split.
Cutting the split section off only moves the problem further down the hose.
After some examination of what we can see, and a bit of John’s restoration experience coming to the fore
, we surmise that the plastic hose used is not suitable for use as fuel lines.
So it’s off to an auto shop tomorrow for 5m or so of the proper thing.
As for the rest of our break, John & Faye have done an absolutely amazing job of the garden. Very pleasant just sitting chatting or reading in such beautiful surroundings.
Looking forward to seeing what they come up with over the next few years… and we won’t be letting five years slip by before our next trip in their direction!
(Of course, some of the delay can be sheeted home to other minor distractions of a medical nature.

Ray,
Is the problem the little joiners or the narrow thick walled nylon fuel line?

You can get good Durif freighted to you Ray, no need to travel all that way just for medical supplies.Greynomad wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 1:13 pm The diesel heater problem has been identified, but not yet fixed.

As far as the fuel line, it is the additives in low sulphur diesel that affect the plastic fuel line ..... adding methanol (metho) at around 10% by volume helps.
The only fuel line that is completely modern diesel resistant if metal, even copper can be corroded because of the methanol used to remove the water from biodiesel that they use as the lubricant to avoid chewing up diesel injectors and pumps ... non sulphur diesel is even harder on components than unlead fuel .....

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Ok,
this is what you need. (eg)
https://www.dieselheat.com.au/products/ ... l-line-8m/
and then, 3/16 inch dual wall (ie the woven thread) fuel line for the joiners. (which doesn't fracture and leak over time)
https://www.repco.com.au/parts-service/ ... p/A8851468?
the narrow ID means that the fuel pump pulse travels though the pipe and correctly dribbles onto the glowing gauze which sustains the flame. The soft plastic pipes absorb the 'pulse' and the heater doesn't sustain the flame.
