Split so I can hide fuel tank and battery etc behind them I want to make a tarp to cover the whole lot
Pruis would be good but I hear there is not a full set left free

You have a dead boat? Which one? Half the silver Prius seat was in the workshop at the time of the fire, so the taxi Prius donated half the rear seat to the silver Prius.
The Lexus rear seat is leather, so not really suitable for a boat seat ......

If I put the leather seats from the Lexus in the silver Prius, we wouldn't be able to shut the doors

Might be a trip to a wrecking yard coming up. Tried to shift it today but need some tools and fidling to lift motor.
Next week when cleaner comes.
Have to find some hydraulic oil for electric lift.

Well, just had a visit from someone from the council, complete with body cam, telling us we have to apply to the council to put the containers here, we can't live here any more, checked with the house builders and they checked with the council as to whether we could put the Winnie on the house block, most definitely not .... and an indication it could be 2 yrs before they even start building the house
And, even though it is a commercial block that we own, and it was previously used by the person who built the place, to modify and build race motorcycles for his personal use, the commercial block does not have a use approval for repairing vehicles for my personal use He claimed it was zones as a battery installation business, even though we had never applied for any use type for the building, so unless we applied for a rezoning of the premises use, we couldn't have the vehicles here, nor could we have containers .....

When I pointed to the 20 ft container that has been there since we have been here and we never applied or received any approval for a container ..... that didn't seem to matter to this bloke .......

So, now I have two 40 ft containers and a 12mtr x 12mtr dome and 16 vehicles and own 2 land parcels within the council boundaries, I can't put them anywhere

The fees to lodge an application for approval and every other fee that could become applicable was up to $1,500 before I stopped counting ...... I don't think I want to live in Mannum anymore ..... it has just lost all it's appeal

Maybe just travel from place to place in the Winnie with an extra large middle finger painted front and back ..... I have had it with bureaucracy

Maybe because of an existing container you may have leverage against them...
I went through a load off crap with our council re the shade shed... which is not a problem with the neighbouring council .

Organised to get it delivered by the same people I'm getting the containers from, for $250, not worth driving over there and back at the price.
The containers are still at the transport yard here in Mannum and at the moment, they are ok with them sitting there, still trying to come to terms with just what the next move will be ....

Terry, don't drop the bundle because you have now met some dumb bozo from the council with an over inflated ego.
He is probably talking sh## anyway. Get a permit to temporarily install a couple of containers, so you can continue operating as T1 Lithium then. Tell your builder to go ...k himself and get your deposit back. Get a transportable 3 bedroom home shifted onto the block and get a nice big verandah out the front, for Marg to have a couple of sips in the evening. Leave enough space up the side for the dome, after a couple of years of being at the workshop site it may need a new cover anyway.
Maybe pull your head in a bit and downsize a little.
They can't kick you out for living in the only suitable residence that you own, even if it is on wheels.
Every so often, here on the GC, someone's car gets impounded. If they are living in it, it always comes back. To the point where they no longer tow cars away that someone is living in. Usually it is a woman, with maybe a cuppla kids.
Ask them if they have lost all compassion for humanity.

And also, no builder has ever wanted the owner of there build on-site ever. Because they see too much of what they are hiding, because they all hide something a bit dodgy.
I'm tipping your builder has dropped you into the council frying pan.
And, if none of the above works, sell up everything and kiss Mannum goodbye. Move over to Walkers Flat and build up onto high ground

As the name Flat implies, there isn't any higher ground there It is still part of Mid Murray Council, so that wouldn't help.

This is a council, they have no compassion, they can turn a blind eye to what they want to, but I feel there is more at play here.

As far as Kookaburra Homes goes, if the 2 yrs is not to walk in and live stage, they get nothing more, no contract to build and they will have to justify value for the $5,000 already paid.

I'm guessing they want us to move to the caravan park to live ..... no plans on that happening, but we do still have a council approved building on the block on Purnong Rd, the teenage retreat, so maybe a bed set up in there, so we don't live in the Winnie, it just has the facilities. We recover the waste system that was already there and continue to use that, it is still council approved.

I have a feeling attempting to put a transportable home on the Purnong Rd block would be met with major opposition from the council and there is no such thing as a temporary permit to put a container on a block as far as this council is involved.

Somehow, a container has become a permanent building, even though it is not actually anchored to the ground, 3 to 6 weeks is the max you might get away with reading through the jumble of rules and regulations.

They want a business set up here to generate employment, taxes and commercial rates.

I know all about the reason for body cams Jon, so I was careful to walk him into areas he wasn't ready for so had to back pedal to the old "Accountable Deniability" replies, so he knew exactly what he was doing and saying ...... nothing was going to be just ok'ed, he was all about $$ generation for permits he knew full well would be denied ...
