Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Morning all..
Monday again.. bingo day for Carol and her mates..
I borrowed a large angle driver from next door to clean up the welds on the car trailer I will leave it as is for now, I bought a mig welder off market place yesterday... down Hervey Bay..my son went and checked it out...I now owe him 🥰. it will be next Saturday before I can go and get it.
Temperature still in the mid to high 30s..no rain yesterday... it's overcast at the moment.. but no rain predicted for today...but... that could change...
I haven't figured out what I may get up to today...yet..
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Good morning.
Have you used a mig much before Bernie?
If not then it's common to not get enough penetration into the metals. I've seen several mig welds where the run is just sitting on the joint.
& no vertical welds on chassis or towbars!

If you start out with gasless flux cored wire, it's a lot more forgiving if you get the welder setting wrong .... but remember, "it's got slag, so ya gotta drag" just like a stick welder.

As Bruce said, it's easy to lay down a weld, much harder to get it to penetrate the metal on both sides .....

I was saving up to buy a small laser welder, but I bought a couple of containers and a canopy instead ..... gotta start saving all over again

Lasted maybe 10 mins this time, from sun to horizontal rain with hail this time ..... got the expansion tank off, the horns and 3 phillips screws ..... and down it came again .... the wind would blow a dog off a chain, just suddenly starts, no build up, those tiny hailstones hurt when they hit .....

Do they have that great vocabulary that the Western Sydney crows have ..... I think they taught the local bogans up that way how to talk  After a while you pick the difference between truck, car and the F bomb ..... but they really know how to drag that last one out ..... must be the heat and wearing a black coat they are complaining about .....

Just a comic copying real life  He probably toured through Western Sydney in his early career days, the "Rooty Hill RSL" was a popular venue and the lead in for a number of comical quips for a lot of comedians who ended up doing night time TV ... it was a favourite of Daryl Somers for many yrs .....
