Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Bernie,

I'm an ideas man.... wouldn't it be easier to just place the old and new arms next to each other on the ground and check the distances.

If a bottom mount changes height, then just adjust the leg when it's lying on the ground. Once your happy, trim the top if needed.

Remember, measure twice, cut once. (or cut twice if there are two legs.... but that involves measuring four times.)

I have no real idea what the side of your MH looks like but I'm presuming your perseved problem is to do with locating the legs where there are no bin doors or other obstructions.
I'm lucky with mine.
If the length from the top (fixed) to the lowest position possible is very 'short' then if you wish to free stand your awning you may find the legs too short.
Bernie do you have a full photo of that side of the bus? From front to back & ground to sail track height?
Also the arms that extend out across the top of the open awning will be shorter. (you'll need to cut that too)

I was a bit puzzled when installing mine - I was unsure about how the different leg footings would work. In the end, it's all ok. Providing the barrel is level and the legs vertical, everything works.

The longer legs are to extend the awnings reach. If you cut the legs shorter, there is a possibility the bracing arm that hinges from the top while the other end slides up the main arm and locks into the extended drum end of the arm, then the locking clamp is tightened to keep that triangle rigid, will no longer make the perfect triangle that allows the main arms to be adjust out or back in, without the need to unlock the bracing arm ..... there is also the possibility there will not be enough length for the bracing arm to fold away, resulting it the need to shorten the bracing arms as well ...... That would then result in the drum not being able to be fully unwound without the drum ending up so low that you can't walk under it ..... or too high to be a practical shelter

Good morning.
There will be nothing done with the motorhome today
We are going to Maryborough early this morning.
Miss O... the not so little red head Olivia is having her high school graduation today... and we will be there...

As to the leg thingys on the motorhome I do have to cut them down to fit...in the closed position ie as one travel's. They are longer than the existing arm's
The photo shows how much longer thay are.
The two in front are the old ones... and you can see the difference... they will have to be cut to the same size
The sliding piece doesn't get cut... they will still be as normal...
Keep safe.
Bernie.

Good morning!
Must be the day for some travelling.
Off to Sarina, stroll onthe beach & maybe some 4WD stuff in the little Jimny.
Then upto Mackay for a special lunch for my Redhead's 50th birthday with a few ofher best mates.
No doubt a lot of talk about BIG trucks, bulldozers & diggers will happen.
Be safe everyone!

wow, a day of travels.

Not to be outdone, I'm going to the golf course.

I'm pretty sure I got scammed using paypal last night. Bought something, and then 2 duplicate transactions happened for the same item but to different people. Not sure how it happened but logged 2 cases with paypal.

What's worse, I mentally noted that the deal was pretty good and the website didn't quite look right. damm. You have to be super careful.

The 2 x 40ft containers were delivered about an hr ago ...... council will be flat out promoting itself at the yrly Sounds by the River on this weekend with every caravan park and camping spot full, including the golf course, so it will be at least Monday next week before they even realise they are there and at least another week to draw straws about who comes up to make a song and dance about it

So, tomorrow will be a trip to the hammer shop and by 10 ltrs of paint and one of those electric spray guns ..... and try to match the colour of next doors container and workshop, so they sort of blend in :D
