Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!
It left you with a tin of paint that gets left out in the sun until a good % of the water evaporates. ( just stir it a bit every now and then )
Bin there ,,dun that.
Thanks Noggins, I think it ended up back in the 15 ltrs of way too thick paint and it will get mixed in when I get a chance to have another crack at painting these containers ....
I was hoping to get at least a coat on them before the council gets narky, but the Winnie rego is Tuesday next week and a min of a day's travel in the Winnie, but would feel better if we reached Balranald CP Monday so I could drive to the inspection place Tuesday and have a base to do any minor repairs that might be picked in the inspection ....
So, play will have to be postponed on the containers and play resumed on the Winnie .... need to find a fan motor for an EF/EL 6 cyl, one of the fans has a crook brg in the motor, water must have got in there somehow ..... if I can't find a motor for it, I'll refit the radiator less one fan and motor so it will still have 3 fans to keep it cool ..... I believe I'll be able to remove the fan assemblies without removing the radiator etc due to all the room that will be available without the hydrostatic fan and monster shroud being between the radiator and engine ....

Ron, I like that tip about leaving the over thinned tin in the sun.
Except, turps was added to a water based paint. Somehow, the turps needs to be boiled off.
In the Certificate for Automotive Spray Painting from NSW TAFE, did they teach how to boil of turps? Maybe, that theory could be applied?
You didn't read the above post properly Jon, the paint simply remained under the turps, so I poured the turps off again

I can't keep up with everything. It's getting all confusing now. .... So...

how did the water from the paint get in the radiator fan motor causing it to stop working?

Magic?
You are having trouble keeping up with it all, and you are a lot younger and not the person it is trying to juggle all these things ..... and just to throw another spanner in the works, Margaret has a specialist appointment in Adelaide tomorrow, early, so an early start from here and I'll have to do the parts searching on the phone while in the big city
.... I need to track down a crashed EF/EL Ford that has a broken fan shroud that I can rescue a fan motor from ..... the complete assemblies are in the $300 range these days .... I might be able to source a motor through the interweb, or finish demolishing this motor that was never designed to be pulled apart, and remove the rusted bearing and try to source one of those ..... I think time would beat me on that one, so it will probably go to Balranald with 3 out of 4 fans ......

Why can't you just retrofit an after market fan into the OEM fan being used as an aftermarket fan?
Also, does the Winnie have a name yet? I was thinking about Heath. Might be good.

Good morning.
A bloody hot day in part's of Qld...I downed tool's at 11 am...it was 38 degrees...it did get to 40 degrees by 1 pm
So not much done...I did plant out tomato seeds some in punnets some into the raised bed..
I also spent a few minutes looking at the awning arms...I only have to put spacers on either end not both ends...I'm still searching for something to use..
Probably heading to another warm day.
Carol painted the Isuzu with a roller and only used house paint, also the Leyland was touched up the same way..
I know of another motorhome that was painted the same.
Keep safe.
Bernie.
Good morning everyone, its a bit cooler this morning than it was this time yesty. It got to about 34⁰ before the afternoon storm rolled in. Then it rained and hailed a bit. We were lucky, it was only thumbnail size here. Got worse the further north it went.
Achieved nothing else for the rest of the day.
Haven't got a plan for today yet.
Safe travels all those out and about.
Cheers
