Terry I've used exhaust tubing in the past & as long as you keep up with the additive in the water it does last many years. I had it on water cooled irrigation engines.

I thought I'd be clever and order the aluminium one with the rolled piece at each end so the hose didn't slide off, 7 day delivery and I thought that sounded ok as well ..... unfortunately, not everything out of China travels quickly, ordered on the 7th ...... it was supposed to arrive today but tracking now says it only arrived inbound in Syd waiting for clearance 24th, it left the supplier on the 10th, so it took 3 days for them to actually put it a bag to send it, judging by the number of airport departures and arrivals, it has been on a world tour, Syd was the 4th arrival ..... Aust Post has nothing on this delivery mob ....

It is certainly looking like it will be the exhaust pipe hose join and I'll have to run a bead od weld around the ends to stop the hose sliding off.

Decided to remove all 4 fan motors to check and oil the bearings, I have a feeling I'll be ordering 5 replacement bearings in the near future and replace the lot of them  Powered up without the fan on them, you can hear the bearing aren't real happy, not at the screaming stage yet, just notchy/clicky .....
Play has been abandoned for the day as late afternoon drinks were called ... well they were calling and I gave in, so, play will resume tomorrow .....

The aluminium radiator hose joiners arrived today, so they are glued onto each end of the water filter housing to avoid them coming off and needing to remove the whole engine cover to access it and tighten them up again.

The modified fan shroud is just about finished, only needs the attaching legs made and fitted, the second 2 fan motors installed and the clearance path for the fan outer ring cleaned up with the wire wheel on the angle grinder, and it will be ready to install .... at the moment, things are again progressing at an acceptable rate ....

The air con won't be regassed before we head off the Balranald, the weekend will interfere with that fitting into the schedule ..... haven't sourced a replacement receiver dryer yet anyway, so I'll just have to sweat it out for the drive over and back .....

Do the air cons on M/H's & C/vans need to be re gassed? if so where do you get them done?? Also what about the other things like the fridge, water heater that have gas?

The "gas" part is the refrigerant Dottie, so not the water heater, well, unless the water heater is a heat pump type, but very rare in an RV.
If a rooftop rattler or fridge is not performing as it should, a refrigeration technician is the person to call and see if regassing is part of the fix.

In the case of the Winnies engine driven air conditioner, I had to remove part of the system and that required the existing refrigerant gas being pumped out and stored for recycling, that is a requirement of the clean air act and big fines are dropped on anyone caught deliberately dumping the refrigerant into the air ....

When I finish assembling that part, it will require new refrigerant gas to be pumped in, it is prudent to replace the receiver/dryer at the same time as this is the systems filter and the gas would need to be pumped out to replace it if done as a separate job, then refilled and this is not a cheap procedure .....

Did that help?

After an eventful back and forth discussion with various entities that may or may not have been an AI, I ended up with a form directly connecting me with the shonky seller on Temu regarding the pressure spray gun that wasn't actually the whole unit, just a hose, gun, extension pipe, metering jet and nozzle ..... yet to see if they come good with the pump etc .....

After wasting that 2 1/2 hrs, I got maybe an hrs progress on the fan assembly ... and the rain started and hasn't stopped since  If I'd known, I could have spent that 2 1/2 hrs on something productive and used up some of this sitting inside time staying out of the rain ..... I hope it rains itself out over night, time is becoming a tad tight ......

Well yes sort of, the G man is now going to go through all the info we have on the air con etc. We have a friend in WA whom is actually an air con tech. Same with the fridge will check the refrigerant. Thank you Prof1

Dot, are you talking about the fridge in your house or your motorhome?
Your motorhome is a 3 way Dometic, gas, 240v and 12v isn't it? If yes, then it's a different type of system.
Cheers

When Terry mentioned the air con in his winnie needing to be re gassed I wondered if that applied to all other gas appliances. Yes our fridge is Dometic 3 way but only connected to the gas and 240v. .
Glad your M/H claim was without hassle, how long before you can use it?
