Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Deborah, I go to the hammer shop a cuppla times a week I reckon. I have found the best way, for me anyway, to find stuff is to google whatever product bunnings. Once you set your local store, it shows you the product, price and what row and bay it is in. You only have to set your local store once, then it remembers.
Cheers

Gee this being single has whiskers on it, not getting kicked through the night, no snoring and so on.
All washing and all put away and all the jobs both blue and pinks done. The 3 little blackbirds have got nearly all their feathers, more bowls of water put out ready for tomorrows heat for the birds. Brian was a good boy for his mum, no running away and he didn't pee on me. Vet happy to stop the eye ointment and watch as no difference see again in a month.
G just rang to say goodnight and to say thank you to you all for the well wishes. He said a nurse went to raise his bed into sitting position and the Dr blew her head off, MUST lay flat. Anyway he is eating and drinking as pr usual and the hosp had to send out for extra supplies
Going to be a hot one tomorrow so take care all us oldies
Deborah I shall try my best to get the elephants pics up but not now I am too tired. Early to bed so Goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Bernie x

I'm guessing that bit was from George, your snoring is legendary DottieDot wrote: ↑Wed Dec 03, 2025 10:27 pm Gee this being single has whiskers on it, not getting kicked through the night, no snoring and so on.All washing and all put away and all the jobs both blue and pinks done. Without George there, aren't you worried you might sleep right through until George needs a lift home

Poor George, eating and drinking when you are lying flat can be very uncomfortable. Give him a hug from us too please Dot. Good to read that Brian has remembered his manners and the vet was ok. You will have to lay low in the heat tomorrow methinks. We are not due a reprieve until the weekend. xxxx
I managed to unpack the bathroom things today and found good places for most things. I even have a separate small shelf just for my purple shampoos. I have 4 smallish boxes of drugs that I don't leave in the van permanently due to the heat. The boxes are all weird shapes and they won't fit into the cupboards so they will have to be re-imagined, into smaller boxes methinks. I am waiting for temu parcel with some of the bits to get the job properly finished. One of the things is some insulating foil that is so thick with a layer of foam between the silver. This is for the wardrobes. It works really well and if I can get it into the wardrobes before he puts the shelves in, the job would be so much easier. It's great to get a straight run from the top of the roofline and all the way down to the bottom of the wardrobes. Hoping to see that parcel soon.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
He he, G has rang x 3 times so far today to tell me he has been up and walking around with the aid of a walker . Dr said the R) leg will never get better so left that side alone but did the other side of spine and was satisfied with what he did. A matter of time now to see the outcome. Physio has been to work with him and has given him exercised to do, and depending on how he is feeling tomorrow he may or may not come home. I have been busy today and already feeling knackered so I will sign off now, Hope all the sickies are improving and coping with the weather. Terry = no comment

Dot. Mr G's progress sounds promising. Give him another one of our hugs please. He won't slow down on the physio, but remind him that it can be overdone too. Hence why I have still got the tendonitis problem...I tried to get better too quickly and totally stuffed it.
Your message was very deep mate xxxx
No Jon, not a tardis, just a lot of very light plastic stuff. The payload is 500kgs and I am very careful to remove anything that might be unnecessary.
It has been another heat wave day., so not a lot of heavy chores done. The van had little work done because we are too tired in this heat. Our bedroom fan/light has decided to totally misbehave. We reckon we put it in about 18 years ago . When our sparky came to look at it, he tried to save us some money by getting us to buy some parts for it and he will rebuild it. We don't think it's worth the effort, but will talk to the ladies at the lighting shop tomorrow. I reckon we will just end up with a totally new fan/light. Hope the sparky can return next week to do our job.
My first parcel of van bits arrived this afternoon, so as long as I can find a cool time, I will try to put the insulation stuff up on the back walls inside the wardrobes. That is one of my least favourite jobs, but it is certainly worth the effort.

Margaret is battling with the tendonitis thing that was combined with her foot problem. The usual one, apparently, is further up the leg, but Margaret's damage is where the tendon attaches to one of the bones in the ankle, so the tendon stretching exercises aggravate the problem by tearing more away and staining those still attached ..... even though she knows the muscle group strengthening exercises require a min of a days rest from that muscle group for them to repair and rebuild ..... she is so determined to fix it fast, she ends up going backwards ..... hopefully she will learn, she can't be told after all

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I got the ph call at 10am to say G was ok to come home so off I went, he was sitting in the foyer with his bags by side. Stopped at Mt Barker for him to have a little walk around and got home at 2pm. Straight away the jug went on and a cake on a plate as i got him in his chair. Discharged with Palexia woo !!He is now in bed and wriggling about as usual
Ate his tea as usual. Wait and see So my OP shop $5.00 walker has well and truly been worth while. . On the way home (air con on) I felt my head and it was warm so then touched the car roofing (interior) and it also was warm any insulation in the roof? Had the sprinklers on tonight and then we got some drizzle any rain is welcome. I'm off to bed now, Hope all the sickies are feeling better, enjoy your weekend. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Bet it feels a lot better having George home now Dot. Have you starched your uniform and cap yet? Take it slowly and all will be well. xxxx
Today seemed hectic. It was 40degrees outside ( so the car told us) and we were really pushing it. The fan/light place had a laugh and suggested that 18 years is a good innings for a light. We totally agreed and bought another similar one to replace it. Our light was almost the prototype it was such a new product when we bought it. It's a fanaway light where the fan folds up and isn't visible until turned on. Much tidier on the eyes and we like them.
Right next to the lighting place is a BBQs galore. Went in to ask about getting a gauge and pressure thingy for the gas bottle but had it explained that 2018 caravan bottles will not fit the latest fittings ( we knew that) and with all the explanations that he gave us, we left more confused than ever. We went off to the caravan dismantler place, that often carries new bit n pieces for older vans, and they were even more confusing. We just gave up and decided that the van has lasted with the gas system that it has for the last 7 years with no mishaps, perhaps we are needing to listen to our son at Christmas and see what he suggests.
Next was the curtain shop and they had changed locations since I was last there. Drove out to Wyong Industrial area and found them. I found the perfect material and of course, they only had some large off cuts that should do the job, but it will be a bit of a fiddle.
Over all, it's been a hot and frustrating day. Maybe a sleep in tomorrow will help!
