Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

George,
We have two birdbaths, front and rear gardens.
Over the 13 years we’ve been in this house we have counted 45 varieties of birds — both resident and migratory. The King Parrot pair return every year for a week or so. It’s delightful to sit in the bay window after breakfast and watch them taking turns at a dip-n-splash. Usually the smallest birds wait for the bigger breeds to finish, unless they get there first. 😜
The only two pest breeds we try to discourage are the Sulfur Crested Cockatoos, which nip the fresh tips off the trees and just drop them on the ground. If they at least ate (or even just nibbled) them we would accept it.
The other pests are the Currawongs. Filthy habit of pooing in the birdbath!
Of course, our greyhound girls are tall enough to use the birdbath in the backyard for a drinking trough! 🤣
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Up at a reasonable time today (0930) heaps of watering done before it got too warm speaking of birdbaths out the front we have 2, around the sides and back of the house there are 5 and over by the baby birds nest there are 3 so lots of cleaning and topping them up sometimes 2 times a day the little honey eaters love splashing away. and we love watching them. Had some great news tonight Our Rockspider is in the RAH supposedly on his death bed and a jail guard by his door, that perked us up no end, called in a favor and he supposedly has heart woes, breathing woes from asbestos and ?Parkinsons. He is eating drinking and talking , not to bad for a death bed thing. Seems the rockspiders have been sprayed with something, they seem to be dropping like flies. Must get to Mt Barker to do some shopping as a certain person has been nashing his way through the fridge and freezer contents to the point the cupboards are calling out for refilling. He is doing really well, walking around with the op shop $5 walker  he bought me. Hope all the sickies are getting better and if travelling be careful. Time for bed e buys. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Jd x :D

That catch up sleep was a good one Dot. Great to read Mr G is showing good signs of getting better, especially if he's eating the house clean...Cheaper than getting someone in to vacuum it! Did Brian keep you company while you slept a whole day away?. Fanaway fan/lights are only available at Beacon lighting stores and warning, they aint cheap. They were a lot cheaper when they first came on the market, when we bought the original ones and because the main rooms in the house have them too, I felt that we should keep the look going. xxxx

The progress Christmas get together was a lot of laughter and fun. Just the right way to end the year from our usually, serious meetings.

Shirley, it seemed a lot hotter here than the predicted 26, more like 36 and with the smoky haze tonight, all doors have had to be kept closed. That meant the air con was the only reprieve.

We seem to have something happening every day this week. Tomorrow it's the lift people for the annual service. I can't believe that it's already been a year, since it was installed. They told us that it is a regulation that all lifts have an annual service, so they will be here to collect their money tomorrow. Not a lot expected for me to get done. They will have the power on and off etc, so all will be safe.

night all xxx

Is he still here? Today was quiet and warm . George is progressing in leaps and bounds. Using the walker but also using the walking stick in between. He reports an improvement of the L) leg and foot so that's good news. Deborah Brian stays with me every second I am in bed, a faithful male . Those fans are expensive but if they work well then they are worth it. Today I had an email from a friend to tell me her husb is rapidly declining with his dementia and she is so exhausted she can;t cope looking after him any more , she has to call the cops at least 5-8 times a week to find him as he wanders off , he doesn't remember his beloved dog and that is so very sad as they were always together. She has to wait for a suitable secure dementia unit to become available. I hate dementia for what it does to their family and friends. Our rock spider is "the same as yesterday" bugger it.Our door bell rang today and no one to be seen, it has done this before??? Hoya's flowering David, have you re potted your by using Orchid mix and a bit of good quality potting mix and not a big pot either, remember to sprat the leaves with a weak mix of seasol. Heard that Pet-als is doing fine and doing social stuff, good to hear. Hope everyone is feeling better . Off to bed now so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Deborah x :D

Dot, the hoya has been repotted, but not seasol'd. It still looks not very well. I might have to do it again, while Terrie is away with her mum. And I will seasol it.
Musta got a bit dehydrated today, had calf cramps earlier. Had some hydrolysed just before. Feel better now.
'Night all.

Agree about dementia Dot. It's just such a waste of people and their lives. His lordship often loses keys and becomes so cranky with it. He hates it when I try to help but today after he had rampaged through the bedroom, caravan and car I tried to help. Girl search through the usual haunts in the car, then on to the caravan. On the cement edge of the gutter, next to the caravan door was his car and house keys. He had sat down on the step to tie his laces and obviously the rest is history. I find it hard dealing with his panic attacks and crankies, I cannot imagine having to face that every day. Your poor friend. xxxx

Today was lift maintenance. I was happy with the help he gave us about various thoughts we have had and how to react with the shudders that it gets after a short holiday from us. The chains get a bit flat when it's in the same place for too long. It's one thing that clears up easily with a few ups and downs. Best to leave the lift on ground floor when we go away. That's the sort of interesting questions that we had for him.

Once he left, I had time to get a pair of curtains made for the van. The window behind the bed is now looking fabulous with a nice bright floral print that matches the doona cover on the bed. I have managed to get the next set cut out and ready to sew, but they will have to wait. Tomorrow is biscuit making day...oh goody.

night all xxx
