Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Getting warmer, G got a good report from back man, to have an ordinary X/R to make sure everything is in the right place etc and to see Dr in 3 mths or any woes to be seen then. To take things easy for a few mths and walking is the best medicine or to use a stationary bike. After the medical stuff was over it was time for some small talk. He is a lovely man.
Last night when I was hanging out washing the aroma from all the hoya's was lovely. Did another heap of Brian food up and in the freezer so def will not run out for a couple of mths .Lots of traffic on the roads now and the nutters are out there. Q/Has anyone ever had or have a robot mower, robot vacuum and robot window cleaner? Thinking ahead as these things are getting harder to do for either of us. G is home tomorrow and I am off the the city again to the oncologist then Monday to see the neck man. Hope all is well with all the sickies and be safe if on the roads. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Good luck with the trip to the city Dot. Hope the onco man is happy with your progress. Stay in the air con as best you can, looks like you are in for a stinker. Good to see that Mr G got a good report card. xxxx
I bought some Ozzie Mozzie traps from a site on F**kbook. They came and I am still not convinced that they are doing anything at all. Somehow, the company had managed to sign me up for a monthly deduction from my paypal account to then send me further crap. I asked about this deduction as was assured that I had signed up for it (definitely did not, they are just another scam). Happily they told me how to contact paypal and remove them from my account and cancel any further deductions to them. Despite calling their cheap nasty products Ozzie Mozzie, they are a Singapore company and have no ties to Aus at all. Be very aware folks.
Had a good visit with chiro, she earns her annual Christmas biscuits. Came home to a request to sew some more hooks onto our old caravan annex floor mat. I think the thing should be falling apart due to age, but he thinks it can be repaired so that the tent pegs will hold it taut. Job took a long time, but it's done now. I may have to work on him to buy a replacement one, don't like my chances.
Next was to finish making the curtains for the caravan bathroom and kitchen. They will get a quick iron and hung tomorrow. I do hope that that's the last curtains to be made for a while. Hoping to finalise any caravan things tomorrow as Friday will be doing a big pack the van to leave on Saturday.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Well what a good week we have had so far, 1/ A dead rockspider, 2/ G got a good report, 3/ I saw oncologist today and he said I have passed the 8 year cancer free but if a cancer does pop up again it will most likely be in a different place so keep listening to your body. Had some laughs and a Xmas hug and will see again in 6 months.
Then for the end of this year Monday to see Neck man for usual check up and also my GP and that's 2025 medically done and dusted. Remember I mentioned the inside of the cars roof gets very hot and even with the air con going it doesn't really bring the roof temp down, ?? no insulation up there?. When I finally got home 1730hrs Brian was still in the same position on the bed, he beats Deborah and me put together.
Tomorrow I have physio but no travelling involved. Hotter tomorrow. Time for a nice cool shower redo the bird baths then hit the sack so Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Another good report card Dot, a great way to end the year. Hope you can keep up that level of cancer free too. Brian has my approval for his sleeping habits, I have an inner cat. I am sure that's why I sleep so late in the mornings. Stay cool mate and it may be worth finding a motor trimmer to put a layer of insulation inside the car's roof??? That's not very practical for our climate and the need to do the insulation for yourself is just wrong.xxxx
The curtains were ironed and ready to be hung. So even in 30 degree heat, we went to the van a tried to hang them. First problem that we found is why Jayco didn't have curtains installed in the bathroom or kitchen. The window frames are made of plastic. Not happy. Next problem encountered was that the screws for the wire just would not thread into the duchess wire (sometimes call princess wire...the semi stretchy curtain wires) We fought it for a couple of hours and then decided that it would be easier and possibly better looking to get some dowelling and run it through the curtains and find some lightweight hangers to hang the curtains from the roof, or the walls next to the plastic window frames.
After that wasted time, I spent a while getting the boxes of chemist drugs that we have to carry to cover many sins, into some smaller boxes that I bought that would fit in the bathroom cabinets. I found some drugs to be out of date, so had a bit of a re-organisation and made sure all things needed were in the boxes and in date. Took a while but it's done. After lunch the last of my collection of bags that had stuff removed from the old van had to be located into the new van. The bathroom is now fully stocked with things like shampoo and spare soap.
The van has been returned to having all the things that we usually leave in the van, all stocked and re-sorted so that now all we have to do is get the clothes and fresh food and we should be ready to take off on Saturday. Tomorrow is skin specialist in Newcastle, so that will take up most of the day. She is keen to use her scalpels on us both , so will tell you about it tomorrow.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Too hot for you Dot? It certainly is too hot here. Ceiling fan and air con is working overtime. xxxx
Our day at the skin doc's was painful for us both. His lordship has bandaids covering his ear and a crevasse on the side of his nose. He waited patiently while I was operated on and I did the waiting for him. My special treatment? three whopping moles cut from my back, almost at shoulder height. They are still thumping, so it will definitely be the strong painkillers soon.
Not a lot of anything else was done today, that was an epic session at the quacks and I will have to have my stitches removed in the new year. His nibs got away with some disolvable stitches and a bit of glue...not fair. He has to have a lot of skin things removed regularly and mine are a not very often occurrence, so I should give him some sympathy too.
Tomorrow will be the final packing of the van, getting ready to depart on Saturday. The school holidays start this Saturday, so expecting a bit of a slow trip. I suspect that we will have to get up with the sun to beat some of the traffic. He also has a few sidetracks that he takes to avoid the bottleneck at Hexham, so that at least will give us some sort of relief.
safe travels out there,

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Well done Deborah all packed and ready for departure. I went to the physio and he is a mine of info on a lot of topics incl some countries customs etc. He does my neck very well. Bloody hot and today was the first time we had the air con on for some hrs. Even the birds had their misting fan on most of the day and the wild birds went through the water quickly, went to fill one dog bowl with water and there was a 1/2 grown black bird just standing there cooling it's feet
1 near ripe tomato on the vine so far. Brian has not been out all day, was on bed until 3pm then he came out for his breakfast then came and went beck to sleep on G's chair. I will shove some more food before I hit the shower and he may go outside after he's eaten. (maybe). Nothing planned for tomorrow but G is itching to get back to driving. They say we may get some rain over the next few days, I wonder what that scammy art dealer Nigel says? Take care everyone. Goodnight one and all x

Scammy??? Crikey Dot. He offered to make you a millionaire and all he gets is "scammy".They say we may get some rain over the next few days, I wonder what that scammy art dealer Nigel says?
As he walked away, he said "30's plus maybe a drop on Sunday to make the paint run."

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, I hope the neck man has made a great difference. Looks like the birds will need misting for a while yet, if it's as hot there as we are getting. I am sure it was over 40 degrees in the van today. xxxx
The van is as packed as it can be. All the clothes and foodstuffs went in today and a few more little spaces were found for odd things (which we will take years to find when we need them). It was great to be able to get the new van fridge to work on gas while parked up on our very slopey street. We had to closely read the manual, but the gas worked it's magic and tonight, the fridge is starting to cool down nicely.
Apparently I am being woken at sparrow's fart and there is very little to get put into the van. The fridge stuff will go to the van and the Christmas stockings that are already to go, will be put into the truck. I wouldn't put them out on the street, even in the vehicle, until we are in the truck. Most of the vehicles that get broken into here, are up the other end of town, but I am not going to be the first one at our end having a break in.
Safe travels everyone

Nothing at all of any excitement today, Had a surprise though, had a lawn person actually turn up on time to give a quote for a new lawn. (maybe) He said ours will get back to normal in time but he has been installing a new type of Kikuyu that doesn't run rampant.I am going to give that weed killer a go before committing to new grass and $$$$. Hope your first trip away is successful in all aspects Deborah. Make a note of those little hide aways and what's in them because for sure you will forget. I have also been in the MH, I am taking heaps of (too many) things out. Like 4 towels down to 2, and clothes have had a big cut back but it needs a good clean after all the dust storms we have had .Another peach fell off the tree and it was very nice.Do you like my new avatar? can you guess who it is? Terry , just 2 days until departure. G did his first drive down the street today and he was ok. Brian's pet insurance was paid up for another year and that's about it for today. Thankfully it is nice and cool tonight but the mozzies are out and about. About time to have a cool shower and hit the sack. Stay hydrated and safe on the roads. Goodnight everyone x
