Adding to Peter's comment.
I have 6 panels. 3 on each side of the curved roof. Generally, 3 are in shade due to the angles.
The idea with the new ones is to mount them in a line down the roof center. Plus, I'm increasing the rate output by about 400 watts (1760 watts) which should give me no problems running the AC. Although I'm expecting to see an increase of about 700 watts due to the old panels age and positions being eliminated.
Getting ready for another big trip north this year.
Diff in Jan/Feb.
Panels Feb/Mar
Taggerty Apr/May Possibly a quick trip to Pilliga spa.
Aug-Sept-Oct Queensland.
Mr P has to hang on for another year.
Good morning daily

Re: Good morning daily
Well done Bernie. I guess the next stage is assembling the drum, on the ground and roll it as you progressively tighten the 28 screws to make sure it is tensioned straight.
Next stage is to learn from my blunder, it is an awning made for the rhs, being fitted to the lhs, so everything is reversed regarding the left end and the right end of the drum ....
There are two sail track grooves with the hole going through the end caps, and one that is blank at each end.
The open end track the next rotation around the drum after the blank end track, is where the awning pocket that you threaded the plastic strips into, then into the track.
The blank end one is the real pain in the butt, you have to fold the awning material into the slot, using the yellow plastic wedge thing, then push in the round strip to lock it into place.
Gotta go design a house, be back after lunch

"tanks" here---Thanks for the new avatair.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Re: Good morning daily
Spent 2 hrs with the house planning man, 2 hrs of being told that would cost a fortune to do it that way, we have settled on a basic plan the he will draw up for us sometime between now and next yr ..... Actual need to empty the Teenage Retreat, maybe 12 mths time ..... That means we might still get to travel a bit ....
The man said the temp was dropping today .... someone forgot to pass the word on the Upper Mannum ..... maybe lasted an hr, T shirt soaked in sweat, awning out again and the anti flappers fitted and three rafter bracing bars in place to give a bit of shade .... that was part of yesterdays creative workings ...
Started on wiring the fans, went looking for the cable strippers, a wind gust and one of the awning bracing bars snapped the pin that goes into the drum clean off and got me down the side of the forehead ..... doesn't the sweat make that sting .... next hr spent repairing the bracing rafter ......
Found the wire strippers, Margaret had put it away
once I cool down a bit, I'm back to wiring the fans.

Re: Good morning daily
NP, to answer your Q the answer is yes I do. I have no sleep patterns these days. Hows the new puppy doing?
Bernie why didn't you just buy an awning that you bolt straight on? Our new one just took 10 minutes to attach?
Also thanks to Peter and Sandra and Jd for your explanations on my solar panels Q.
