Bernie's awning support.

Post by BruceS »

Bernie if It was myself I'd design & construct a new support system for that awning saddle.
Do you have any galvanised steel about 2" wide & at leadt 1/8" thick?
Ifnot look up item number in your local green shed.
It descibed as 'shelf support' I/N 3961567.
I'd be inclined to grab acouple so you have enough to weld cross wise foot on each to enable 2 screws in each.
What size is that pivot bolt? About 1/4"? Or maybe bigger? Look at what galv hinges they have? Knock the pin out & use it? You got cold gal? Or pressure pak of it?

If'll be ok till then.
My awning is about the length of yours & has no support.
I think mine may be one long barrel though... not 3 pieces joined.
Drove over some rough roads coming up here too.
