Too hot and battery not full but what the hell AC went on. Did not take long for the battery to hit full so the rest of the house got cool as well.

Still hot here too. I had another crappy night and woke with half a headache and a body that felt like rubber. Absolutely no energy whatever. I had a Dotty day here too. Was still in my nighty at lunchtime. That never happens at all. So not much to report back from here. Just the usual long weekend antics on the lake. Jetskis on steroids, fishing trawlers and yachts all vying for the space and of course our street is full of cars with empty boat trailers on them. They launch their boats at the bottom of the street at the boat ramp and parking is just a pot luck thing. We also have a lot of airBnBs with no vacancy sign at the moment. Watch out for traffic complaints about the Pacific Highway going back to the big smoke on Monday. We stay off the roads this weekend for good reason and it isn't the double demerit points that stops us. They hoon on that stretch of road.

Saturday was non existent after our big day out on Friday Brian and I did not arise at all and nearly the same today. I went out to the bus to cull stuff (clothes) On Friday morning I was thinking about the gravelman and his persistent no shows or calls so I got the ph and rang, he answered so I got straight to the point Why haven't you contacted us? he spluttered a bit and said "I shall come around at 8am tomorrow" Well he turned up at 0930 so George had just told him to do the job (no quote) so now we await again. I will give him a week then off I will go. Tennis is the only thing worth watching tonight but I have a few things to do while it is cool. I was going to give the new mower a run but will wait until this heat has gone. Maggie has been and gone with a full belly of Brian's left overs. HTFFBO has told me their fridge has chucked it in now, told her what the boys here would tell her is to get a common old domestic replacement. Did I do the right thing boys? Time for another shower take care if out and about and hope the sickies are improving. Goodnight everyone x Goodnight Darryl x

Depends what batteries they have and what inverter Dottie, lead acid batteries and an Evilbay inverter would not keep the fridge running overnight, if they don't have 400Ah or more of good lead acid batteries, even a 12v fridge will struggle if the solar isn't good for a few days ....

It was another hot one here too, as Shirley said. It felt a lot hotter than 36, but that just might be the unhealthy me talking.
I achieved very little today. We sat in the air con rooms and stayed almost sluglike, just to conserve energy. We are starting to run out of veg, so will have to venture out soon. His lordship, who hates salads has helped me to prepare lovely salads for the last 2 nights in a row.

The lake has had lots of entertaining idiots for us to watch. I reckon some of the big cruisers would use as much money on their days outings (in petrol money) as we spend in a week. There were quite a few of them today. I just don't get the need for such big boats for a few people on board to have a sail for the day.

Being a bit controversial here. I read an article today that made me think and yet none of us would possibly be game to say out loud.
The Indigenous community have 26 "special days" in 2026, if you count the NAIDOC weeks etc. Our culture has only one day to celebrate all of our achievements in this nation. It would not matter when we celebrated it the indigenous people would not be happy. I was born here and I feel that makes me indigenous too, just not of their tribes. Maybe we should be celebrating more of the special things that our many cultures have brought to this country.

Agree fully Deborah, we should celebrate what we have achieved rather than grumbling about the govt not doing this or that ..... We are a multicultural society and we should learn to appreciate just what that means, for all of us ....

We should not be identifying as a collection of people who are some other countries citizens, the majority of them would need a passport to get into the country they claim as their homeland

Agree, we are all AUSTRALIANS, I only recently in 2025 discovered I am a decent of a first fleeter, actually discovered when online someone claiming land in Sydney that I new was a land grant to my grandmother’s family when I challenged the claim, the person came back with that’s correct Shirley, further messaging I discovered the relationship & family tree.

Gwandalan bowling club is having an Australia Day celebration, we’ll be playing to rounds of bowls & there will be entertainment, sausage sizzle, face painting, games etc., out on the grass foreshore to the lake behind the club 1-5 pm for anyone to attend.
Hopefully the weather prediction of 25c maximum is the go, all day on the green we don’t want it hotter.

Better sleep to get some energy to play.

Have both sides of the family came out in chains in the early 1800’s but blood proud to be Aussie. Look at the number of whites claiming to be black and it makes a laughing fest of the whole black movement. They ar3 only there for the money and every thing else they can get.

Have worked on settlements in the NT when employed by the power mob and my Molly was raised on s settlement for a few years so have the respect for the true black fellow.
