Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I am over this hot weather. Luckily being retired I don't have to be out in it and our house keeps very cool with the air-con running but it is getting very boring not being able to work in the shed. Still a couple more hot days to go before a bit of a cooler spell. The poor garden is getting burnt even though we keep the water up to it. Motorbike is all in pieces and everything has been polished or painted. Just need a trip to Adelaide to drop off the bits that need re-chroming. Goodnight All. Cheers John

Night John, the weather has been ok for the last few days and looks to continue that way until the weekend.
I even had enough time outside to cut up the steel and make one of the box frame sections that make up the body work around the steps ....

Yesterday I even got the door back on and hammered the hinges out until it shut sort of properly .... seems the big winds catching the door and swinging it against the louvre windows, not only left the window markings in the Perspex, but bent the hinges big time.

Judging by the pattern of marks, it's not the first time it's happened either, but not as bad as the last one that resulted in the door no longer closing ..... those things are heavy once you take them off, they don't look that heavy either .....

Dot, still quiet mate. Over this hot weather too? Stay inside in the cool mate. xxxx

Yes Shirley, I reckon the kids are on their devices. It's just weird that none are going past our place with the usual fishing rods and towels on the way to the jetty and the pool. Not any of them. Maybe they too ,are feeling the heat as it seems to be accumulating. Hotter today than yesterday and then tomorrow will be hotter again. Hope the rain does come on Sunday as promised.

We both have hearing appointments in Newcastle tomorrow, so another day doing doctor things. Seems to sum up our retirement totally. There is hardly a week when we don't have medical stuff happening. I have marked out the month of March and early April for us to escape and there is no medical stuff for that time frame. We are both starting to look forward to that time.

The pestman was good today. He took his time and seemed to be thorough. We passed the termite test, so that was good news. He gave his lordship a bit of a lecture about all the garden that is too close to the house and suggested that even more needs to be removed. I hope he listened better to the the expert. I have suggested that the vegetation could use a good cut back...fingers crossed that he really listened today.

Stay cool you lot,
night all xxx
Deborah

Like this Deborah? isn't their smell divine? Brian was picked up yesterday arvo very unsteady on his feet He was bumping into everything and it did look funny. His eye lid has a couple of stitches in it and is a tad swollen. The vet gave him a little "goodie bag'' A tin of recovery food, and a neck collar made from a material but that was not welcomed so he just laid down on my old d/gown on the floor and slept. He ate as soon as he got home hut he has not been seen having a pee or a poop even though he digs and sits but 0 to be seen Will ring vet if I see 0 in his loo tonight. He has 2 doses of pain relief daily and ointment to his eye x2 day. He is eating ok but drinking nothing, he is not dehydrated. Today the cleaning lady came to vac and mop the tiles and the bathroom. Well to me that means dust furniture , wipe down windowsills, dust the skirtings. Of course you go and check their work and to my surprise the tv cabinet had the same dust on it (not wiped) the skirting boards also not been done . Then in the afternoon another boss type person came to finish the paperwork and I asked if they had any handymen that could use the big paver cleaning machine and I would hire the machine = NO would they have a handyman that would be able to affix the shade cloth which is fraying away from the woodwork (using a hammer) = NO but they will get someone to clean the gutters out and that is up on a ladder? And this crap about only wiping the fronts of cupboards but will not wipe out the insides We can do all of that but not the bottom shelf ?? They will only clean 1 loo but we clean our own loo. Had my dyke cut today and then went to K mart which was great hardly anyone in there. Tomorrow the sparkie comes to replace the old fans with the new ones, only getting 4 done cuz at $300 to do 1 fan when all the wiring is already there. Last couple of days have been nicer than it has been it is revving up for the next week or so. Air con is doing it's job nicely . Going to get Brian out side before bedtime so I can give him another chance to do his thing in the dirt. He hates the inside loo. Take care everyone. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Homeless x :D
PS Any one wanting some spare cash to do some men's work like a new ensuite update/redo ??

It was hot today, the poor sparkie had to get into the lowest part of the ceiling and he came down actually dripping in sweat so I gave him a hand towel soaking in a frozen bowl of ice He was a really nice guy and will use him again, He did 4 fan replacements. Took Brian back to the vets today as he hasn't done a Pee or a poop since he came home or had a drink of water either. Thought I had better have him checked. He is well hydrated because he had IV fluids and his roo meat is good fluid . The vet flt his tummy and said there was a small amount of urine in bladder and also he has some poop but the pain relief (opioids) will be causing some constipation so she gave the poor boy a mini enema, so I raced home but still 0. She was pleased with his eye laughed when I told her he just freezes when you put the vic collar on so I watch him carefully and he is doing all the right things,(sleeping a lot like me ) Watching the tennis and the Spanish lad had to work for his win. Now the joker is finding Sinner is a threat so we shall see if Joker is past his prime. Gunna make some donuts for supper (banana ones) Take care in this coming heat everyone. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Ray ;) x

Dot, you found the right colours for our double delight roses. I have the front garden full of them and since the potash, they are blooming beautifully and their colour is just like your pic. Amazing what can happen when you use the right foods. Hope Brian gets over the worst soon. xxxx

Today was the hearing place. His nibs has one hearing aide that needs an annual check up. That was today for him. I was having a test to give them a base line for the coming years, or so I thought. My hearing is worse than his nibs and mine is in both ears. I did not expect that at all. Due to needing several appointments and having the chance to replace or refund with in the first month, I decided to leave the fitting until we return from our next long trip as the diary showed the appointments wouldn't work any sooner. End of April, I will be able to hear better apparently. Truly, I don't feel that I am that bad. Time will tell.

We are both well and truly over this hot weather. The drive into Newcastle today was so hot (yes the car is air conditioned, but the road is not) and after the two hours in the hearing place, we felt exhausted. Another night when we looked at each other and said, "just not hungry". Toast with slices of tomato were as much as we felt like.

Hope you all have electricity for those much needed air conditioners

nighty night xxx

Dot, I guess that Brian is doing what people do after any big op. They seem to take a couple of days to settle back to a proper routine in the bathroom department. Stay sane mate and have fun with the lawnmower. xxxx

Another 30plus day here with 80% humidity. I wish we had none of the humidity and then it would be more bearable.

I sat down with my spreadsheet of what drugs to take when and put pills into their packs for the next month. As I was doing this task, I realised that my recent spreadsheet has a drug missing and it is important. So back to the computer and redesigned the spreadsheet to cover a few more drugs and variations (nothing is straight forward these days) . That is now right up to date and in the handbag for any emergencies. I ordered a few boxes of non script drugs online. That is so easy to do these days, so no excuses for running out of telfast. That's our most used drug.

Tonight after dinner we had a lovely storm, but it only lasted about 45 minutes. It did get some of the bushfire smoke out of the air, but not enough. We woke to a smoke filled house this morning. The fires are nowhere near here, just sending the smoke far and wide. The lake looked like it was about to rain for most of the day and we realised it wasn't cloud cover, but smoke. The sun this evening was bright red. Pretty to look at but a warning of more to come.

Hope you are all keeping cool,
nighty night xxx
Deborah
