Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Ummmm..... is that based on it still has teeth on it ;) That wear pattern doesn't look real flash, it should be like a kidney bean in the centre of the tooth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Lzw1wPgc8U everyone has a different reference for it, the critical part is ensuring you have the backlash the same with every reading ....

If the Bedford diff housing is anything like the one in Big Bus and all the SB series diff housings, someone in the machine shop stuffed up big time and machined too much off the rear bearing mount, resulting in the pinion going too deep into the crown wheel, the fix is big shims under the bearing cup and then a very thick packer gasket where to seal housing bolts on .....
It looks crazy the first time you do one, the gasket is the same thickness as the shim, so if you left the shims out, the seal plate would mount up without that crazy gasket that invites a leak ..... and the diff will last for a few thousand kms before it self-destructs ...
and don't do the quick and dirty pattern shift by changing the backlash .... that is just asking for carrier bearing failure or excessive axle spline wear and a snapped axle if you ever get caught in sand ..... that axle hop combined with too much backlash = snapped Bedford axle ...... I ended up fixing 26 of them when I was the mechanic at ACE Bus Services in Tassie ..... if it was possible to do it wrong, the mechanics there before me mastered the art

No, not really Terry, I was going by the wear pattern and lack of scalloping of the tooth face. It looks quite reusable, and not it real bad nick for the amount of miles that it is known to have done.

Anyway, it's Monday again. Time to think about another work week. It's too early to tell what the day will be like, the sun hasn't popped up yet.
Cheers

Good morning.
I had sunday off 😁😁.
I didn't even start the log splitter... but I did do a tally..so far I have split 70 blocks... and there are still 50 sitting on the ground awaiting... some I will have to cut down with the chainsaw.. they are too long to fit into my fireplace.
And today I think I will be taking the splitter to the neighbours to split her's.. just waiting for her to drop in here this morning..
The only other thing of importance was to re attach the motion light back to where it was....
Security camera's are working..I even had a visit from a rabbit 🐰.. you can run but you can't hide 🫣..
Keep safe.
Bernie.
PS: I almost forgot... bingo start's today..
Carol is beside herself 😁😋🥰

Good morning, 17c sun hasn’t made an appearance yet, very cloudy & a little smoky, southerly wind, maximum 23c.

The demolition next door should continue today, very little has been saved to be recycled, pity to see everything ending up in a skip.

It is cold here, long sleeved T shirt and a shirt cold ..... and the air con on heat .... it dropped to 10* overnight, freezing weather

Lunch time today, off to the doctors to have these things cut out under the right armpit, then back to finish off this caravan job .... hopefully, then I can get back to concentrating of the Winnie fixing ....

"tanks" is still here---
Have a good day. The temp in Wylie, WA is 19 °C to 40 °C
The aircon is on.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Thats the second time you mentioned 'things under armpit' Terry. Just lumps or stuff in lymph glands.
