Hi Ros,
We have a Truma E2400 and have used about 30 plus 9kg bottles while in Tassie for 15 months (Av usage 5 to 15 hrs a day) and it worked great. Sometimes though I have found that you have to turn the Thermostat up to around 4 to 5 to keep it going if the Ambient Temp is not really cold ie 10 to 15 degrees and sometimes even then it might cut out once to three times and then it will keep going, but it only does this now and again.
Ours was fitted in 2011 and I have heard and read that some of the units have had faulty electronics which were replaced under warranty. I hope you get it sorted as they are a Godsend on cold nights and only use about 1 amp to run.

Cheers Kev.

How many $$ per 9kg refill Kev? How many hrs do you get out of a 9kg bottle?

Hi T1 Terry,
With all cooking and water boil up for cuppas on gas cooktop and using the heater as I said for between 5 to 15 hrs a day in Tassie the worst days usage for the 9 kg bottle were 12 days.

That's not too bad, average refill now seems to be around $30 so around $2.50 a day, less if you can find cheaper refills. With diesel being up around $1.60 average, that's equivalent to 1.5ltrs of diesel a day, that's about 10 hrs running for the Dometic/Eberspacher D2 on medium setting an there is still the gas usage for the stove to be considered.

Hi Ros,

Is the controller a programmable unit and have you checked if all the programs have been cleared? We have a diesel room heater with an electronic controller and we had a lot of trouble in the beginning because we were somehow putting a setting into the program which we didnt know about. This caused the heater not to start up sometimes when we tried to start it manually.

So I would suggest reading all the instructions, get rid of any programs and try doing a manual start up. Once you have sorted this out then you can then start to work out how to put in new programs. Good luck with that because we havent got that far yet, only using the manual operation.

Sounds like your system is the same or similar to ours Ros.

An inner & outer dial only... inner dial setting from #1 to #5 & the outer dial has 3 settings... fan/off/on.

Ours would start then run for about a minute & stop. Rang the manufacturers who said it sounded like a circuit board needed replacing but could only be done at a designated agent. In the meantime I'd noticed the gas cooktop was not really producing high flames so decided to replace the regulator.

Now all systems work wonderfully.

Hi Chuck thanks for that this is the way we were heading sounds like we have the same problem, can you tell us what brand/type regulator you used for the replacement ??? our understanding is that a good quality type is required..

Thanks heaps..

Cheers Ros.

Hi Ros, I used a Rock brand regulator that you can buy at any Reece store. I have the same one at home and that has been going for 5 years now.
