Hole in my leg!

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Would the salty tears kill the leach?

Hey guys, thought you'd like an update on the leech!

......the area around where the little sucker sucked is red, itchy, yucky...went to chemist, using antihistamine now, but was told the site of the suck could stay yucky for a couple of months!

Anyone heard of this?

I'm never going into long grass again!

And I don't care who calls me a woos...

:ugeek: dee

PS Dot you'll get your paella!

Must be only a particular leech that causes all this grief?
They have been used in medical treatments since Adam was a boy. (along with maggots)
Down our way we have white-tailed spiders that cause an almost never healing wound.
Can fester for years & some amputations can result.
We have a lot of nasties in Australia ...

Typical reaction among members of my bushwalking club. Minimum time seems to be about two weeks and up to two months. Ticks are worse and the bite site can weep and be itchy for months.

I recommend Vicks for the itch. Must be the brand name stuff for some reason. Apply several times a day while avoiding touching the bite site.

Thanks for the tip, Iza....never thought of Vicks...

My dad used to swear by it for his gout too!
