Hi all,

I am thinking of getting a remote control fantastic fan and would like some feedback from anyone who has one.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Andrew.

Hi Andrew and welcome to the forum. Here is a thread with some photos of the one I installed, very happy with the result. viewtopic.php?f=47&t=483&hilit=+Fantastic+Vent I bought mine through Evilbay but it would have been cheaper to buy it through Amazon if they have it as an off the shelf item, not via a link to a supplier though, the freight kills the deal then. I bought the hatch cover from Amazon off the shelf stock, the freight was very reasonable, most US suppliers are insane when it comes to the freight they think they can charge.
As a word of warning, don't be tempted to use a company with a name similar to shipto without doing a Google search and read some of the list of complaints and websites set up to complain, mine is very similar to many that are listed there, it cost me big $$ and I still never got my items, even though I paid via PayPal they couldn't help me, I won't want anyone else to become a victim without fair warning first.

The Maxx Air vent cover is far better than the Fantastic vent cover because it is easier to tilt for cleaning, has a mesh grill to stop all the leaves and sticks ending up in the fan and the shape stops the rain coming in so the vent stays open.
The Fantastic vent auto rain close works great, but when it's 40 deg plus and it starts to rain, the vent shuts and the fan turns off and the humidity inside goes sky high, with the Maxx Air vent cover that is no longer an issue. The vent cocer also stops the vent lid getting buffeted in the wind when driving and allows the hot air to vent out the back of the Mazda while travelling

That's the unit Andrew, it will interesting what they quote for freight, I bought mine from Amazon, $78 I think but the AU$$ was better then, freight was $41 complete with 2 other boxes full of stuff.
