Not enough punctuation to clarify meaning is as great a sin as too much punctuation (ie, 'shotgun' apostrophes)!

It should have been,

I agree with you. Stupid, basic errors in grammar or sentence structure/punctuation show a lack of respect. The writer could not be bothered checking that all is correct before sending off to the client. And the client company is equally culpable for not checking that the language is clear and meaning unmistakable.
