Bloody computers...

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Just buy an Android tablet if you want a toy, save a fortune, an Apple will never be a genuine computer, the operating system is far too restrictive. You can have what Apple offers and that's that, and at an unbelievable price for what you actually get. The all warm and fuzzy feel even goes as soon as a new model comes out, yet how many PC users are still very happy with an operating system that came out Oct 2001, any Apple users out there with an operating system that age who are reluctant to upgrade because they are still very happy with what they have?

Even so, they may not have that option when it comes to running a certain something they just have to have, as it will only run on OS XIII Mountain Gorilla or later.

dawg (anybody remember the mighty Australian made MicroBee?)
My first home 'pooter!

Had to go to DSE (Then owned by Tricky Dicky!) to buy another cassette recorder/player with a counter, so's I'd know where different s/ware was on my collection of purchased tapes!
Had one to teach Son & Heir to read & spell. Found a spelling error in the higher levels & wrote to the s/w author. On paper! Got a nice letter back apologising, and with a free tape update correcting the error.
Them's were the daze...
:?
When travelling to visit family, stopped by the MicroBee HO in Gosford. Had a nice chat with the Chairman - same age as me (at the time... we're both older now :P ). Didn't come away with any freebies though... not even a beer coaster (No mouses/meece then, so no mouse-pad advertising. )

Re: Androids...
I fell for that one.
Bought a Kindle Fire with WiFi. (No 3G connection)
Only loads what you buy through Amazon. Even FREE books!
Nothing from the Android Shop will load.
But received a free DVD with 30,000 free books on it!
Can't load any of them onto the Fire...
And often can't connect to my home WiFi network on the MacBook Pro! I think it depends on the wind direction - or the moon phase - or something! Frequently have to visit Hungry Jacks to download purchases....
SWMBO says I can't have an iPad, 'cause I've already got the Kindle with internet connection (sometimes)!
And it's now developed a problem displaying some pix I loaded onto it! Crashes the photo program...
 :(

Good for reading books though.
Illuminated screen is better than SWMBO's Kindle Touch, which requires the use of a flip-over LED booklight on the back of the cover when reading at night or in low light....

Can't remember the program name, but you can load all the books you want from a 'puter onto the Kindle. Margaret says she uses Calibre, not sure if it works on Apple 'puters though.

Had to load (free thankfully) s/w called Android File Transfer onto MacBook.
Everything has to be downloaded to 'pooter, then cable-transferred to Fire.
Tedious.
Unless I drive to local HJ's to use their free WiFi.
