Homeless Geriatric Gypsies

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Presently at Bulli on the NSW south coast with some friends we met from the CMCA.

The journey back from Sale to Home Base was, whilst uneventful, a little annoying. The tow hitch that the seller had for his 100 series TD was an EZI LIFT or similar... would make a good boat anchor! Used it instead of forking out for a decent (Hayman Reece) hitch purely for the convenience factor at the time. After having the rear suspension of the Cruiser upgraded to HD to take the almost 300kg ball weight it was fairly rigid for the first tow & consequently the van was sitting a little high at the front. Every truck that passed us - we were sitting on 85-90kph - caused the van to sway... not a nice feeling & by the time we got home I was firmly convinced that the problem was in that mongrel hitch.

Bought the heavy duty 275kg - 350kg HR hitch & the run down to Bulli was like riding in a limo!!

Most of the stuff from the Winnie went into the van - but not all of it... struth we had stuff in there!

Yesterday arvo whilst enjoying happy hour one of our friends noticed some water dripping from one of our two water tanks. Not knowing where it was coming from - & we had just filled it about an hour earlier - one of our very handy handyman friends decided to take it out, there & then, find the leak & fix it. So under the van he went with spanners & screwdrivers, removed all the leads & hose connections, undid the bolts holding the stone guard in place & whilst this was going on had the drain tap open to empty the water. Tank was removed in about 10 minutes & the problem was from where the sensor/water gauge fitting was so that was removed. Then whilst manoeuvring the tank to a different position a rattle was heard inside... something loose floating around... turned out to be another water gauge that had apparently been dropped in during assembly! This was removed & the current sensor refitted & sealed & am just about to fill the tank again to ensure there is no further leak.

The handymen that assisted in this venture will each be receiving a slab of beer for their kind assistance.

Weather here currently is delightful with temps around the mid 20's along with a nice sea breeze.

Life really is tough at times.... somewhere!

Congratulations on the purchase Chuck.
It's probably a very good idea to fix all those little annoying things as they crop up to avoid having a list as long as your arm. It's also handy to have good mates around you ...... at all times!!

Spot on Mr/Mrs/Ms A.

Life is definitely not dull with our travels Dot... although I certainly wouldn't object to those 'incidents' being spread out a bit more.
