Heifer Creek

Post by shonky »

Hi, all.

Just had a very pleasant week at Heifer Creek, after an equally pleasant ten days at Lake Clarendon, and will probably pass through Warwick tomorrow en route to somewhere quiet for part of the school holidays. Only three weeks left to get to Narrabri, hope we make it.
See you on the back roads,

There is a big dam down near Inglewood (Brisbane side) but I don't know if it's still free camping or not.
Lovely area down near the outlet/dam wall.
Lake Coolmunda.

Surprising what a fist full of fivers'll get you AM.
After that he'll need to park for a month to save up for the next tank of fuel........... just enough to get to the Rally!!!

Hi, all

AM - Lake Clarendon features in Wikicamps, although the site itself has no signage. The Gatton shire are muttering about making it a day facility only, but they're slow movers.

BruceS - cheeky sod - filled up b4 Lake Clarendon and will have to top at Goondiwindi.

We're not travelling slow, just seeing how long we can last before going shopping.

Shonky if you pull into that big truckstop on the Cunningham Hwy (BP) be careful in case it has HUGE holes in the entrance off the highway. The other big truckstop is on the Leichhardt Hwy .

When we went through the BP had all Service Lanes closed. The Caltex on Boundary Rd was doing great trade.
If you travel South to Boggabilla Shell, you will save over 10 cents per litre, more if you're a Coles shopper. They have recently upgraded their Truck Lanes. :)

Thankyou for the update Jon. Were they just doing driveway repair work or do you think it may have gone 'belly up'?
Yes, I used the one on boundary rd last time up there. Better concrete driveway.
First entrance for cars & medium size MH's. (can you remember the canopy height?)
I think it's over 4 metres high?

How times change?
When I drove a truck there was no fuel tax in Qld & every man & his dog made darn sure they arrived to Goondi with empty tanks.
A lot hated Jo but he did have some good ideas.
