Lake Houdraman

Post by Peter »

Lake Houdraman about 5 km out of Quilpie. Free camping no facilities have to walk a bit to get fire wood. Very peaceful the cattle come to drink at the lake and just wander in taking no notice of campers. No time limits . Not suitable in wet weather. Quilpie has all the facilities you need.

The gun wasn't supposed to be in there. I had another photo of lake Houdraman. The gun photo was getting ready for another competition. "Where is this." So the guns are certainly not revelant to Lake Houdraman. I dont know how to remove the photo so will leave it there.

Thank you Peter for including all the relevant details for this site, it makes it a lot easier for some of us 'newbies', who have yet to travel in that area. :)

This is a lovely campsite.

The only down side is the small 'cats head' type prickles. We nearly ruined our Crocs (thongs etc) trying get them all out.

Lake Houdraman is Site 671 in Camps 6 Qld section. We stayed a few days in September. Very peaceful. Lots of photos on our blog http://nussbaumerweb.wordpress.com/2012 ... r-quilpie/.
Cheers
