How was Catho Bowling Club ?

Fire burnt right up to the bowling club, as they say God Bless the RFS, we came home from Newcastle via Catho today & the fires burnt right to the ocean. The southern end of the town where the pub is was surrounded by burnt out bush, it is a wonder more homes were not lost.

Gee Shirley, you were game going right into Catho. I don't think I could manage to get that close just yet without bursting into tears.

The gent who had a heart attack fighting to save his home is close to us, in a round about sort of way. His partner is a good friend, so we feel that we knew Walter as well. But his life was cut short due to this fire and it is very raw for most of our town. Small communities celebrate together, but we are in mourning together at the moment.

Without the amazing work done by our local firies, there could have been more sad stories to share. SO I will repeat it
