Bushfires & our place...

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Wonder if we all asked Him upstairs for a huge hail storm followed by snow on the blue mountains, would it work or what?

Oh Deborah if I asked for anything from Shehe they would do the opposite, but I will ask the giant flying cow to fly over the whole fire area. ;)

By the forecast it'll be most at risk between now and mid afternoon.
The North West wind will not be welcome!

We had rain last night, the fire authorities said the effects of that were gone within 30 mins of the hot north westerly wind hitting. They predict the fire down this way will travel at around 3km/h or more in this wind and will be on top of the escarpment over the Illawarra by this afternoon if the fire breaks are breeched, and they have little confidence they'll hold.... we will see what happens I guess. We have a big buffer zone between us and the bush itself where we are so at the moment we are safe, I hope for everyone’s sake the authorties worst fears are not realised.

Thinking of all our friends down that way. A bit in the dark this week as no TV where we are - Lake Moogerah.

This was taken by someone - from the Warrimoo Oval - about 300m from our house which is to the left of the building in the pic,on the day that 200 houses were lost in the Winmalee area...

Image

& this is a satellite shot of the Blue Mountains fires...

Warrimoo is at the bottom/center of the pic & the light green area just to the right of the name is the oval that the first pic was taken.

Fortunately the winds were kind to us in the latter stages & the house survived. When the daughter returned she said there was more smoke inside the house than outside! :?
No problems really... she will have plenty of time to get the place cleaned up for when we return - whenever that is!!!
