SA registration fees

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Post by RussellB[SA] »

My mate just got his reg renewal papers for his Optimum 3 axle MH, $3000, mine is $1379, he rang to check and have righted but they said it was right under the new act.

SHIT!!

Anyone else heard anything about this huge rise for SA Heavy Caravan/Vehicle

Hi Russell

I renewed the bus rego (SA Heavy Caravan/Vehicle) for 12 months last monday $885. No concession except country.

Regards Geoff

PS $948 last year, I thought regos were meant to be cheaper this year.

Further investigation shows reg papers vary ever so slightly in that my mate Optimum 3 axle is rate as a bus GVM greater than 4500, my papers show 3 axle truck GVM less than 16501.

I think the stuff up occurred when he bought his new vehicle in Victoria and applied for registration in SA after taking delivery.

Never ending saga of buying outside the state I would say.

After my 2 day ordeal with the rego mob over there I wish him luck in getting it sorted, I gave up after 2 days and all I wanted to do was transfer the Mazda into my name
I'm guessing they have interpreted it as a heavy rigid commercial truck or bus rather than a motorhome.

Had a look at our last rego for the bus but was only for 3 mths and that was $253 and I guess a full yr may be around the $900 - $950 ??

I can see a poo fight coming with the dreaded bureaucrats. Best of luck with it. Boy am I glad I only have to deal with Vic Roads and they can be bad at times.

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
