I have a Caver Cascade hot water service (gas and 240 v )in my RV - 12 years old
I can not get any information on the unit. It is english and the company is out of business and I can not find the manual on the internet.
Does any one know where the anode is located? I have removed the outside cover and can only locate the relieve valve and the drain valve
Thank you

Re: ANODE hot water service
Welcome to the forum Laurie,
To have lasted 12yrs indicates to me it has a stainless tank so it wouldn't have a sacrificial anode.
google found this, not sure if it's the same model though.http://www.thomson-caravans.co.uk/advic ... r-user.pdf
Good luck, maybe another member will have more info for you

Thank you
I did not know they made a stainless steel tank but that may be the answer as anode is not mentioned in the PDF file

Ours also had no anode, however it had a big drain plug. Took that out and plugged in a small 230V heater, now the solar in the middle of the day provides hot water at night. Brilliant. Having a good PL20 & shunt with Lithium Battery pack also helps.

Re: ANODE hot water service
When I see anode and hot water service to gether it makes me smile, When the guy we brought the van from dropped it off, I started to look things over. The anode was gone in the hot water service, just the wire left. So I go in serch of a new one. When at the plumbers he said I have this cut off bit for 5 bucks. A bargain in anyones book. I take it home but there is no wire to weld it back in the nut.
Easy fix just grind some back untill its long enought to poke through the nut, yep all went well I ground it back and welded it up and it was just right.. For $5 a gift..
Ok no big deal, no not realy. It was when I went to sharpen a drill bit that the whole bench went up in a nice big white flame, I also brushed it away trying to put it out only to brush bits in side the battery drill charger. It melted that a bit as well. So be careful with grindings from a anode, there must be a lot of magnesum in them( joke) . I should have saved it to make some skyrockets !!!!!

Skyworks on the bench? The mind boggles.
I used to be amazed at seeing pictures of aircraft in warzones doing the "attract that missile over here" trick.
Better that than one up the exhaust!!

Re: ANODE hot water service
I just got the van back from service and decided to change the anode. All went well till the last turn of the mongrel. It ended up 6 metres away on neighbours nature strip.Never thought that there would be as much pressure in it.
