The only non-Apple device I own now is a Kindle Fire (wifi only - and Android ) which I regret buying because with a little more patience & saving I could have bought an iPad Mini!

I think you have hit on something that even Steve would applaud in that this infers that they would rather get on with what they are about and not be concerned with the mechanics. Alas, this is where it all comes unstuck as it's a great plan on paper, but falls short on execution as they are just not intuitive for some of us who think differently than Mr Jobs. On top of that, some apples do not recognise their own species without the secret handshake!
