Help....from the wordsmiths out there...

Post by GregnDee »

I'm putting together a song based on " she'll be coming round the mountain" to sing and play with my ukulele...need a travelling theme...here's a few lines I've thought of but wonder if there's any budding poets ( poets? Might be too strong a word!) who'd like to add some ideas

Here goes with some of mine....Change if you can think of better words on this theme!

We'll be travelling through the outback, mind the roo!

We'll be living on the pension, yes we will

We'll be searching for a dump point, cos its full..

....we'll be using Channel 40, on the road....

We'll be firing up the choofer when we stop....

He'll be chatting with the neighbours, ...always does...!

We'll be lighting a big campfire, cos its cold...

We'll be leaving here tomorrow, wait and see...,MAYBE

Happy Hour is happening, 4 o'clock....see you there!

We always like to free camp, when we can..... (Or.....saves our dough)

We love to simply bush camp, it's the best...

We're heading off to Birdsville, later on....slow and sure

Have fun! Dee

We'll be living on the pension, it'll hafta do

We'll be searching for a dump point, when its full..

....we'll be using Channel 40, because we won't be in the cities  ....

He'll be chatting with the neighbours, ...collecting tips and ideas...!

We'll be lighting a big campfire, cos beers cold...

We'll be leaving here tomorrow, after the pension drops - thank you EFT

Happy Hour is happening, 4 o'clock....bring yer chair!

We independent camp or bust - otherwise spend our dough in other dust

We love to simply bush camp, forget the rest...

We're heading off to GPSville, later on....slow and sure

We'll be travelling through the outback with the flies
On the lookout for a fresh road kill surprise
We'll fire up the choofer
Road kill in the cooker
We're on the pension but we still survive

We'll be searching for a dump point, yes we will
The down side of eating fresh road kill
With consistency of diesel
We already have 2 cassettes full
And the fumes are enough to burn the nose and eyes

He'll be chatting with the neighbours, ...always does...!
He's a sight in his stubbies and rubber gloves
Says he does the dishes
'cause he's scare of the misses
and a Happy wife means a happy life, we're satisfied

We'll be lighting a big campfire, cos its cold...
Happy hour was at 4 or so I've been told
But there's nothing like a beer
To spread around good cheer
While the smoke stinks up the clothes and stings the eyes

We always like to free camp, when we can.....
Sitting around a fire with the gang
Telling our tall stories
And our bygone glories
And tips on where to get the best supplies
A person may fail many times, they only become a failure when they blame someone else John Burrows
Those who struggle to become a leader, rarely know a clear direction forward for anyone but themselves

A verse for the season

Free camps are full wouldn't ya know
But a secret spot by the river we will go
Chilli crays for chrissy dinner
Is always a winner
and dessert is cream and apple pies

alaway a tough one to find the end for the last line 'cause it has to end with an "ie" sound.
