Today I went to Waratah, great old mining town with a waterfall in the town. Then down to Corinna [just missed the cruise] across the Pieman River by punt [$20] and on to Zeehan, fantastic musuem, mining and theatre. Came back to Wynyard via Hellyer Gorge, very steep and winding road into and out of.

After spending 4 nights at Gary & Rachel Pokes place at Wynyard [great place and good happy hours] it's time to push on. Drove down the Lake Hwy through the high country and alongside The Great Lake. Beautiful area [1210m above sea level] stopped at The Great Lake Hotel $6 p/n p/p, Big log fire in the bar [guess where I'm having dinner tonight].

Weather is wet and dry, hot and cold [bloody freezing at times].

I travelled down from Wynyard through the Great Tiers, stayed at The Great Lake Hotel then on to Mangalore. To a friends place [had not seen him or his wife since 2001] could not have been made more welcome to Wybra Hall [google it] built in 1904 but all the plans were drawn up in 1880, 24 rooms, two pools, coach house, stables, dressarge arena, 200 acres, cattle, 4 horses [champion Black Adder 28 years old and only retired early this year. Party at neighbours place on Sunday night, decorated the 14' tree on Monday night [ceilings are 15' high]. They wanted me to stay over Christmas but I did not want to impose. Monday went in to Hobart to check out the Show ground then went to a pub at New Town for lunch. Now I only know one person in Hobart and i was going to phone him today. Leaving the pub a voice said " I though that was you over there" yes it was Bob Voss, the only person I knew. So party at his place [just around the corner] this arvo and NYE at Cockle Creek. Also going back to Roberts [Wybra Hall] place for a party on Boxing Day.

Well did a Christmas Dinner Cruise on the Derwent, Pumpkin soup, Roast pork & Veg and Pud & custard. Very enjoyable 3 hours. Then went up top of Mt Wellington what a view. Came down went to the Wrest Point Casino for Tea, Joined their club for discount on meal [did not invest any money]. When I left there 1830 still plenty daylight so went to the top of Mt Nelson to the signal station another good view. Came back to the SG and had a drink at happy hour with fellow campers.

I won't count yesterday [party at Wybra Hall]. Today went to "MONA" [Museum of Modern Art]. I must be art ignorant. In my opinion a mass of pornagraphic photos for peadophilies, I liked 4 things there 1) the building 2) the water printer 3) the wind driven biro drawing 4) a concrete truck made out of steel lace work. plus the coffee was cold. The went to the Shot Tower [only round shot tower left in the world].
Then off to Richmond, very pretty old town well preserved, bridge, jail, Richmond Arms Hotel, Old Hobart Town [Historical Model Village], good meal in pub.

I have just read this post to my sister and she said she would not waste her hard earned $$ going there (MONA) as her friend told her when she went there it was an exhibition of plaster models of vaginas. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder but hhmmmmmmmmm I would of complained.

Funny you should say that but ballet (to me!) is rude enough!
Then agan ............. you ever noticed all these cricketers have the 'itches' every time the TV camera points in their direction?
My mummy used to smack me for playing with the wrong bits!
