Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!
Just saw a promo on Ch7 for Today Tonight Tomorrow Night...
... if you follow that...
Tomorrow night 1830hrs-1900hrs EDST (6.30pm-7.00pm for the others) Ch7 Melbourne will show a report (?) on the "Grey Nomads and why some towns don't welcome them."
They promise in the promo to "talk to both sides" for a "surprising report."
Could be worth watching.
Then again, it is Channel 7...
Regards & God bless,

We have tv stars amongst us Jo & Derek, I thought it was a good plug for our cause, also the Beewah Chamber of commerce and the Highway Wanderers. Looked good Jo
Queen of the Banal & OT chatter and proud of it. If it offends you then tough titty titty bang bang.
We watched it as well and I guessed that Derek and Jo were "our" Derek and Jo. I thought it was fairly balanced though a but of a non-event. Good advertising for the Beerwah Bowls Club though.
I think it was kept off a "non confrontational" theme and more on the benefits to the towns that we just need a spot close enough to see and spend in their towns, the fact that the Beerwah people have started the ball rolling is a good start. Jo was a very good choice for a spokesperson, she is no dumb blonde and keeps her cool. (She has to being married to Derek)

would have been nice for one of the towns that benefit from traffic bypassing a town with a no camping attitude to come on board telling how they are benefiting from the extra welcome traffic.

Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.
We had to watch it after numerous people told us it was on and sent us a link to it - not shown in regional NSW.
This was filmed back in February 2012. We were asked by Ken Kipping if we could be interviewed for a segment Channel 7 were doing on freedom camping and as we were full time on the road we could explain what it is like. They interviewed us for an hour prior to us heading North to go to Monto to volunteer about Blaze Aid.
We also talked about what we do on the road to keep ourselves busy etc e.g. volunteering, geocaching. Talked about staying at showgrounds, towns that had low cost camping and a lot of money was spent there especially in the winter and that they then could survived the quite time in summer.
It was the same interviewer, Darren Hansen - we told him all about dump points, leave no trace, Camps Australia books and websites with camping sites, e.g. Geowiki.
They told us that it would be televised in the next week or so but never heard anything again.
