Bruny Island, Remember what the NSW coast was like 60 years ago. Thats what Bruny recalls to me. Transversed the Island from N to S and E to W today. Cape Bruny Lighthouse at Cape Bruny, The beach at Dennes Point C Cooks landing place in Adventure Bay to the Alonnah Hotel [home base]. Visited Cheese factory, Chocolate Fudge Factory, Oyster Farm, Berry Farm, Smokehouse and Wine Bar. Perfect weather today off on the Bruny Island Cruise tomorrow at 1400 hours and leave the Island on Friday morning, try to catch the 0700 Ferry.

Peter, Re Bruny Cruise, I suggest you splash your boots before the trip, from memory its about 3 hours, there is a loo on board, but can only be used when the boat stops and thats went the Captain describes a new vista, so everyone will know what you are up to.

Quiet morning [packing up] 1400 hours off on the Bruny Island Cruise, 2 1/2 hours of cruise down to the Southern Ocean [perfect weather] under cliffs, into caves, between rocks, Dolphins, Seals, two Penguins and plenty of birds. Up early tomorrow to catch the 0700 Ferry back to the mainland.

Caught the 0700 ferry , done washing, refuelled, shopped and topped water up.
Now at Bushy Park show ground, cost ??, water and power available if required.

Stayed at Bushy Park [show ground] last night with two other MHs. Left there and went to Glenora [2k up the road] had coffee with Sraran & Geoff [Boblebago]. Then off to Strathgorden Dam, lunch at the Chalet. Then drove to Strahan & now camped at the Golf Club [$10 pvpn]. Long drive today.

Did the Gorden River Cruise Today [0900 to 1445. $105 cheapest for an old codger] Very nice lunch supplied [Smoked Salmon, cold meats and salad] bar on board if required.
We actually went 1K down the coast as it was perfect weather [out through "Hells Gate"], then to the fish farms, on to Sarah Island and up the Gorden river to Horseshoe Bend and finished at the timber yard where they were cutting Huen Pine [old logs salvaged from the rivers when dams were built [as all is banned from cutting any down]. This evening I went to a play [skit] about "The Ship That Never Was" about the last ship that was built by convicts at Macquarie Harbour. The ten convicts that built her stole it and sailed to Chilli. Have to be one of the funniest things I've for a long time.

When I worked for Ace Bus Service in Montrose we called the tour to the Strathgordon dam the moon trip, nothing to see on the way there, bugger all to see when you get there and nothing to see on the way home
When we did the Gordon River cruise 30 something yrs ago, they were still trying to stop the Gordon River dam. To see the destruction of the area and river from the copper smelters after they killed all the vegetation around Queenstown was a real eye opener to what industry got away with in the early day.
