G'day folks,
Bruce, thanks...and every day I wake up is a bonus!
Bernie you plick, am still wiping the kisses off!
T1, thanks mate...yes Jake & Max had a couple of moments. As for Max, he has a new home - I will miss him, but the rest of my life will be lots of travel overseas, so it all got too hard. I went to great lengths to find him someone who I know will look after him. And Terry, that pic...memories... lol
Dot, thanks.
Norman, thanks. My NZ adventure has been delayed due to me having had cataract ops...all is good now and I plan to fly into Auckland in mid March. Have been looking for MH's here http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Categor ... ition=used and some look great. The plan is to buy one and sell when I leave after 6-12 months.

G'day Dot,
Yes, I've been in contact with Max's new dad several times and he's settled in well. Little bugger doesn't miss me...haha.
Seriously, all's well with him. I didn't let Max go lightly Dot - thought about it for ages. A lady wanted to have Max until I returned from NZ. I thought about it, but decided against it as it would bee too unsettling for both Max and me. After NZ, I intend to tour Europe and Asia for 2 years and then North America for a year or so - so it all got too hard.
Max was with me for nearly 6 years - time for us both to move on.

Don't under estimate how long a dog's memory is, he will know and recognise you for the rest of his life but when you do see him in his new home he will come and say hi to you but that will be all, he will he all too happy to snuggle with his new family when you leave.. Glad you found him the right home for him, no go out and see the world as you had planned.
