Do you still use the fuel discount dockets?

Girt has a 200 litre tank so we try to fill when we're down to <40 litres in it. That gives us a margin for error, so we maximise our discount.

Yes, the 30c off was a buyers' dream, if you ignored the slight price rises- just a few cents on dozens of groceries - at both majors...
However, we generally needed to stock up...

Never tried to mix-n-match with a docket. Always needed the full 150 litres allowed for Girt alone. If necessary, we filled Jim's paltry 45 litre tank with a second docket.

If there was a 'Buy two Magnum ice creams for an extra 4c/l off', we'd take it up, as the discount - as already mentioned - effectively gave us the ice creams and a newspaper for free!

I have always used two pumps i.e. Diesel/Gas system fitted and sometimes also top up the generator fuel cannisters or outboard tank.
Have never been questioned or refused at either Coles or Woolies servos since 2002.

We live full time in our Motorhome and have a 500 litre diesel tank in the Denning and try to always use the Shell fuel discount vouchers, often using two or more at a fill.

We sometimes wait till there is a bigger Coles shopping discount than normal and then cash in 1000 Flybuys points, which adds an additional 10c per litre to the discount. We also will stop the check out register at a set amount and restart the transaction to get extra discount dockets, once you explain you have a thirsty Motorhome the checkout staff are happy to do this for you.

Our average fill is between 200 - 300 litres at a time so that we can normally access larger towns with lower fuel prices. Last year we saved over $900 by using this method. It works for us and is easy to do, using the Flybuys points really helps to increase the discount.

Never thought about the flybuys thingo, thanks for that one Steve.. Tried your other suggestion once at Tenterfield. you know you told me to try asking for the truck discount? the guy just looked at me blankly and said "nah don't get enough big fills to worry about it"

FlyBuys are just a statistical marketing tool to help them better target your wallet - but you knew that dinnya.

Kinda like google and my email are doing now - putting up SALE items at the top of my page from recent places I've visited. Hey, they even do it here on the forum, in case you haven't noticed.

Re the Coles Flybuy points, at Coles Supermarket you can dump 2000 points for $10 off your grocery bill.

We shop at Coles and buy Coles /Shell but.........

Next big fill looking at going to Woolies Fuel with a 4c Woolies docket, buy $5 of Milk etc for another 4c a lt off and with an RAA , $150 Woolies gift card that cost $150 less $7.50, so roughly that should be around 12c a lt Discount on 150Lts.
