In fact the A and the L are missing:
The artist has obviously never heard of AustrALia, and put Austria on the car instead!
From my reading of reference books, there are very few species of kangaroos native to Austria!
When I first saw this in a $2 shop, I thought maybe the artist thought the roof was too small to fit all of AUSTRALIA on it.
Then I noticed that on the front mudguards above the wheel - where there's much more room - it also has AUSTRIA.
In fact the A and the L are missing:
