Report on New Telstra Advanced 4G Modem

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Report on New Telstra Advanced 4G Modem

Post by pelbo »

Picked up my new Telstra Advnaced 4G modem this morning. Fairly easy to install and keep my old emails, accounts etc.

Camped in the same spot now so I can compare apples with apples.

Remember, my previous modem was the Sierra 760 4G modem. Lots of drop outs and loosing the Internet. Slowed down to a crawl. Had to log on and off several times as it kept switching to DC and losing the connection.

Well, this one is fantastic! I would estimate at least 10 times faster than my previous modem. Almost instant new pages come up. Most time it took was 2 seconds for an uncached page.

Easy to set up other connections - my wife's computer, Galaxy Pad, my mobile phone. Like falling off a log.

Best thing is the screen that shows me exactly how much data I have used and how many days left to use the data.

I would recommend contacting Telstra (Bigpond) and demand this replacement modem at no extra cost, due to the new DC problems on the Telstra towers.

All the old aerials and charging fittings work on this modem. You do not need a cradle as some suggest.

Certainly sounds like it's fixed some problems!
I went past a Telstra shop today in a shopping centre but never thought to ask them.
Does it have a brand name & model number or is it just "Advnaced 4G modem"? (sorry.... took the micky out of you?!)

Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.
