Yeah. It really is. Every year.

When I was at school all the other kids used to tell the teacher when it was their birthday - they got let off homework. I had to keep my mouth shut. Psychologically scarred for life.

Worse that that, when I was at school - my surname starting with W, when they handed out books or anything else worth having it was done in alphabetical order. Naturally, they always ran out by the time they got to W. Every now and then they would start from the end of the alphabet and it would be for sweeping the floor. No wonder I started spell checking the teacher reports on our kids! I don't think that helped very much.
