Yes, had the op.
After leaving for Albury Base Hosp at 0645 Wednesday, I was home the same afternoon!
Surgeon & Anaesthetist said I had recovered well enough that they didn't need to keep me overnight.
There was talk of having a drain tube inserted for the night. Apparently it wasn't required, so I was tossed out at 1700.
Tumour was apparently benign, but beginning to grow rapidly. Very soon it would have begun interfering with speech & swallowing...

Feeling OK, but surgeon said I am to avoid sawdust for 3 weeks (I told her I was a wood-turner), and heavy lifting (>5kg) for the same period.
Sawdust, because it could very easily infect the incision site, and lifting because it could pop the stitches.
So I can't go & play in my Playpen! ('workshop' to normal people :) )
Would you believe she gave me a medical cert to say I was 'unfit for my normal occupation' (it's 'retired') for 3 weeks?

I gave the certificate to SWMBO... :D
:? Still had to help prepare dinner tonight.

Call after about 1300hrs Sunday, or anytime Monday. The jug will be loaded & tea & coffee pots at the ready... ;)
Regards & God bless,
Ray

You have a tough boss, I think you have been unfairly treated 'cause you did have a certificate for the next 3 weeks, unfit for normal duties, do you normally have to help with dinner?
