We could always hike in there Chuck   really get into this outdoor stuff, swag on the back, pooping in the bushes, digging for water & all that stuff.

2010 & really cannot believe that the road would be sealed but it was reasonably good gravel. after 5 mls rain while we were there all roads were closed so we were there an extra night. Beautiful spot but we did not walk to the top. Friends of ours walked up about 15 years ago. He decided that he wanted to join the mile high club but she would not be in that. That took tiny tents up with them
We first went into the Kennedy ranges NP from Carnarvon intending to do the Mt Augustus from there but were advised not to as the road from Gasgoyne deteriorated once changing shires!
We came down through Marble Bar,Nullagine, Newman as far as Three Rivers turn off south of Kumarina roadhouse and went in that way. We came out past Cobra, down to Glenburgh then Murchison Roadhouse. We saw 2 vehicles in 2 full days on that stretch. It was wet with some water across the roads.
From there we came down to Mullewa if you know where that is?

We is at Jugiong, got here 2:30am this morning after major departure delays caused by a mix of very wet weather and the body not wanting to do what the brain said needed to be done. Possibly pushed myself a bit too hard and paid the price, but we have finally got back on the road, as some fast food mob say, 'lovin' it :D

We took our caravan into Mango last year and the park there is basic but we wanted to see a fair bit. We did a walking tour with an aboriginal guide, and the self drive tour...well worth it! So very interesting.
Hope the weather improves so you can see the place.

Cheers

Sad our trip to Mungo NP was cancelled "too wet", so toured Wentworth, jail, museum lunch in the pub.
Happy hour around a fire.

Camped at Cadwell on the football grounds, very good amenities. W/m $2. Showers/toilets, kitchen cleanest I've seen.
