A roadside stop 24hrs, toilet, Dump Point, no water except for the occasional drums of water for flushing, tables, shelters, some shade, bins, small area, would fill pretty early in peak times May - Sept.

G'Day Wendy & Ash:-

Did I miss something here. The last time I heard from you was when you were new into the 40 Mile Beach Campsite. Did the Rolling Ranger call on you, or did you decide to head towards Cleaverville without any "prompting" from those who keep us moving.
Has the Caretaker arrived at 40 Mile Campsite yet ? Where are you and Ash going to be over the Easter period and all of the public holidays ?

I had thought that as it was early in the tourist season that there would'nt be any push to enforce the 3 day Off-season maximum stay limit until the Gnoorea Point Campsite was officially open and the Caretaker was living On-Site.
Did you note the posting about the Hedland Shire Council who are now considering Wheel Clamping.

Lesson 24 was Underline and Bold and Italics. I can't recall what Lesson 25 was about.

I did enjoy looking at the video clips of the overall area and your campsite which you posted on the Forum. I thought that you were in paradise there being so close to the water and the start of the Indian Ocean . Did Ash catch all of the fish and is now trying to catch a meal from the Robe River. The last time I stopped at the Robe River Rest Area there was nothing but dust.

I was thinking of spending some time there prior to the "Big Gathering" at Cleaverville later in the year when people are coming from all around Australia to watch "OUR DOT" have a shave, do the washing with her on-board washing machine, and eat Weis Bars, Ice Cream, and make a batch of Lamingtons and Scones.

I now plan to depart the Wheatbelt for the sunny North about 24 th May. A grandson won't be here until the 18th May and is coming here to look after the houses for my 3 month absence. I want to spend one week here with him and his partner before I get on the road again.

It won't be long now - it's almost time to count the number of big sleeps.

No Keith nothing's changed, we are still at 40 Mile.
I've just gone backwards in terms of videos, only because as we were all talking about 40 Mile at the time I wanted to get that video up before the Robe River one (which is really just a handy stop over camp) No!! we wont be moving from 40 mile for a while, we have a fantastic spot with excellent access to the water, so far we plan to stay here until end of July seeing as our first month was caretaker free, mind you we wouldn't mind paying for that extra month if we have to. I have no idea what it'll be like when the masses move in, it may get too crowded for our liking yet, but I doubt it
We took a drive out to Cleaverville Beach yesterday Wow, it's a huge area, up a multitude of sandy tracks as well as the main areas, Looks to us there are limited areas for big rigs once it starts filling up, but some very nice places. There are at least 4 Dump Points there scattered around the place mind you you'd get lost in amongst the rabbit warrens in some areas, most of which are behind the sand dunes, without views over the sea or Mangroves. I'll try and get the video up shortly but it's hard to show the spots when no one is there as was 40 mile Beach as a lot of what looks like camp spots are covered in weeds. The rain and cyclone they've had up this way has set off the Sturts Desert Pea flowering too, very nice...................
Here's a peak at one of the coves of Cleaverville, there are a few, one had banded rocks and boulders like Karajini, a lovely surprise.
Dare I say............................... I think we like 40 mile better????!!!!

Thanks for clearing that up for me [ and other Members] Wendy.

I thought that the parking police had caught up with you and that you and Ash were wandering around like lost Gypsies looking for a 24 hour place to park "knickersoff" .

The Cleaverville Beachsite is reported to have up to 300 campers in there at peak time; you would almost need traffic lights to go to the dump point. I hope there will be some uncrowded sites for the mob to stay reasonably close or within walking distance to each other comes late June early July; when "Our Dot" and George arrive to do her thing to raise funds for her Charity. Is it possible to rope off an area and put up a sign reserved for Big Rigs. There will be:
1. "The PopeMobile",
2. "The Box" (Dot & Georges) bus name unknown to me
3. several long caravan units incl "Geriatric Gypsies".
I prefer to camp away from the crowd because after sunset "Russell" barks at everything that comes near his Sprinter. plus I run a generator form time to time for battery charging, electric cooking, and to supplement the solar panels.

Speaking of Dot's drive to fund raise; I was thinking that I could organise the womenfolk of our Group to put on a public Belly-Dancing performance to entertain some of the hundreds of other campers while we are at the Cleaverville Campsite. I can provide the music [Greensleves] , and a few of the blokes can circulate amongst the crowd with collection/donation buckets. It may be better to time this performance just after "Happy Hour" after everybody has had a couple of drinks and feasted on Dot's Scones; but then again we don't want too much wobble from the women while they are dancing. It may even be possible to organise a few Gins to come along and do a Smoking Ceremony to welcome us into Country.
The old saying -- "I'd do anything for a friend" should be applied here !

The still photo you took of the campsite at Cleaverville makes me want to get going now instead of delaying my departure, but I do want to see the Grandson and his partner for about a week to make sure that they know how to drive the lawn mower and water the pot plants. Hell, I might even be able to talk him into painting the house . There is not very much to do in this town to keep him occupied while he is on holiday.
