Dot, I wouldn't complain about not being able to mow the lawn if I were you. But if you really want to mow grass, come up to sunny Qld. I have heaps of grass to mow and only a push mower. Yeah I know. Poor me.
Its good to see you back on deck.

Re: Dot's update...
Had to trek back down to Nth Adelaide to see the "Italian Stallion". He asked me to take my pants off
and lay on the bed
then he asked me to lay on my side and I thought
but I did. He gently unwrapped my trembling jelly bum to expose my wound that he had made some 2 weeks ago. Then it was time for all the ooing and arhhhhing to stop while he snipped one end of the suture and he slowly but ever so gently pulled it all the way out. Then he snipped the other stitch where he took the donor bit of bone from. He then cleaned the area and placed a couple of steri strips over the cut and said it was looking good and that he was pleased. Asked about the leg numbness and because it is still being "a pain" he suggested I up the dose of woo hoo pills at night to see how that goes. With that I pulled the dacks back up again while he told me about no lifting no forward bending etc etc he gave me an X/R form and in return I handed him a nice cheque and told him the next few tanks of fuel for his Maserati were on me. So with that we once again hit the road for home in full peak hr, G driving and me laying down as comfy as one could be till we got home at 5pm. So that folks is the end of this saga, wants to see me if there are any problems or worries, otherwise I should see him in 3 mths. Can't do that because I shall be in the far west getting a cold head.

Re: Dot's update...
Just a little drop of goo on the gauze today, G is pleased.
The extra pill seems to be doing it's job, only take the extra one at night, if I took an extra in the morning I sure would be flying.

Re: Dot's update...
Had a plain X/Ray today and all seems to be in place so we are pleased. Saw my GP and she is also pleased to hear I have not needed the strong pain killers for the back, the main problem and the pills needed are the nerve pain in the leg. This happens due to the way this op is done and that is a sideways approach which means the nerve in question gets a bit squashed and this is it's way of rebelling but hopefully it should rebound sooner rather than later. Not allowed to bend forward or lift anything over 2kgs for a few more weeks. I am allowed to drive down the street but I will pass on that as the old leg/bum doesn't like the position needed to drive. But all in all good progress.

Greg says to tell you it all sounds good, and as for the nerve thing, funny things happen.
The only thing that's wrong at the moment is you're not over here with us watching the canal boats toodle past. And listening to people who talk funny
(He doesn't mean me does he?)
