For the fruity ones here

Post by T1 Terry »

http://www.businessspectator.com.au/art ... phone-help ransomware attacks and other hacking attacks are on the increase in all apple gadgets from phones to pads, laptops, the lot. It was only a matter of time and time has caught up to you now.
Gottanapple, better get an antivirus real quick, encrypted data will be next, not just locking your device. The holes in cloud security are obvious to all but Apple themselves by the look of it.
Betta get a PC

Hi, all.

Last time I took a PC to my computer bloke he took out "most"of the viruses and charged me $100. That was three years ago, and the only computer bloke I've been to since was Apple in Chermside in Brisbane. Any subsequent probs were sorted out with a phone call, and their call centre staff are excellent.
Mind you, when I moved the bus in a hurry last year to obtain a better spot at the Narrabri rally someone forgot to bolt down my beautiful iMac 21.5, causing absolute grief and despair. The new one bought at Tamworth a week later is superb, and their latest operating system, "Maverick" is a joy to use.

I guess we won't hear about when you do get your computer locked or encrypted, probably because you won't be able to use it
The question now is, why did yo need to ring the Apple tech at all Shonky? I thought someone said there wasn't ever a problem with the fruit machines
Don't whinge that you weren't warned when you get infected with a virus
What can I do to prevent this?

If you have an iCloud account, change the password for your Apple ID. However, until Apple identifies and fixes iCloud security weaknesses, says Miller, disabling the Find My iPhone feature in your iCloud settings may be the only way to prevent this particular type of attack from occurring.

It's also worth keeping in mind some other more basic security measures, including:

•Make sure you only download from reputable websites, not third parties
•Be careful where you browse
•Install security software on all your devicesUnfortunately, none of these steps is failsafe. Malware is usually disguised as something more harmless, and in the case of this particular attack, it appears Apple's own iCloud interface -- surely a 'reputable' platform -- has played a role.
If Apple can't get their own platform services secure, how vulnerable is your personal equipment

Hi, all.

T.I.Terry - techs are very handy when attempting to improve one's computer skills. Surely you PC people have a tech you can call on at any time... For example I don't know sh.. about iCloud, but I can readily find out all about it with one phone call.

Have more respect for your elders. Methinks I can claim 12 years seniority over you so na na nana na.
