Gas Heaters

Post by Dot »

Just looking through the BCF booklet and saw Gas heaters. With all the talk etc of people being gassed, how come these heaters are still being put up for sale? They are advertised as "Companion Heaters" :?

are these heaters fully flued or stand alone Dottie? Our gas heater won't give out any gas unless the pilot flame keeps the sensor glowing, so no way to get gasses via the heater. a leaking bayonet gas fitting could be a different story though

They should be advertised as such then I reckon. I still can't understand why you would buy a heater to have outside in the open. :? :? would they be of any benefit :?:

Lot of pubs have them in their beer gardens to keep their crop from frost bite.

Have you seen the new flame stick gas heaters for outside venue heating, quite impressive. They shine out a good light as well as plenty of heat, a bit like a triangular shaped spire I guess you'd call it, with a glass tube up the centre of the wire cage. The flame burns inside the glass tube so uneffected by wind etc and safe from the dickheads trying to be clever and light their cigarette from the glowing top the other type had, saw more than one hair do go up in flames as a result of such stupidity.
EDIT: Apologies, it's called a Fire Stick http://climateaustralia.com.au/patio-fl ... ting-kits/ the Fire Fountain looks pretty trick as well, the flame is normally blue, not orange/red like the photos show.
