Dot's update...

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Saw my GP and she is also pleased to hear I have not needed the strong pain killers for the back, the main problem and the pills needed are the nerve pain in the leg. This happens due to the way this op is done and that is a sideways approach which means the nerve in question gets a bit squashed and this is it's way of rebelling but hopefully it should rebound sooner rather than later. Not allowed to bend forward or lift anything over 2kgs for a few more weeks. I am allowed to drive down the street but I will pass on that as the old leg/bum doesn't like the position needed to drive. But all in all good progress. :D :D
So the 5 litre casks are off limits, but 2 litre casks are OK??

You'll have to limit your drinking, Dottie...
Or stick to the 1 litre Baileys bottles. :D

Have been going for stealth walks at night, no stumbling or going Arrhhhhh every few feet so now I walk with a spring in my step with the occasional side ways gait but that MUST be the pills  . I reckon there is a marked improvement in the leg pain/numbness as well so tonight I am going to cut one pill out and see how I go. No need to go into the effects of these pills on the digestive tract do we? Oh why not? well as you know lack of movement, food going in and nothing coming out because of those drugs and as much as we drink water, eat fruit blah blah blah we all know what happens in the end, we end up taking some nice pill to improve the sluggish feeling, so you take one at bedtime, nothing happens the following day so that night you think "OK one did nothing so tonight it's 2 little red pills tonight" So after taking them and as you ponder tomorrow an old feeling comes over you", Oh no , Oh yes, something has worked and here I have just taken 2 of those things, "what will tomorrow bring"? Well have just found out after tonight's walk, and that ends the update for now.  Q/ How come there is no smiley face to represent "DRAINED"

Maybe these as a pictorial representation Dottie :o :x  :!: the last one to represent the new feeling of size
Now, from your general descriptive impressionisms of Chuck's visit to the little room (or is that litter room) those walks maybe "stealth" in your opinion, but may not necessarily G's views of the event

No wonder people who don't have cover don't get operations done but suffer. I can totally understand why. Medical stuff is totally out of control.

Some of the things are
Prosthesis $886
" " " $680
" " " $I400
" " " $7980
" " " $7200
" " " $1525
So all my super screws and bionic bits better do the job. They are so far......
We are not on the top table either but we would NOT be without it with the luck we have had the last few years.. G has to have a procedure done but luckily he was able to book his time for when we get back from WA. ;)

Well it's horses for courses I think?
My parents had full cover (when they were alive).
Several times they had medical requirements & they used their cover. They had to pay a gap.
Several times they told the DR or hospital that they had NO cover (although they did) & didn't have to pay anything.
Of course you don't get to choose your favorite surgeon & have him put stainless screws in you........ just some reject from India & rusty screws but hey!!! ..... you still don't live for ever now do you?

What made up our minds for some private cover was the disgusting treatment G got from a BIG hosp when he was airlifted there after a MVA. They discharged him with a ruptured diaphragm clearly visible on X/R and also written in his case notes. The radiographers report stated that but the many gaggles of &^%$ pretend Dr's could either not read, see or even speak English. Luckily when the situation got to be a serious one we were able to choose the best surgeon in the business to fix the oversight of that other mob when and where we wanted. Costs no more than a couple of cups of coffee pr wk. Plus I get to see my Italian stallion.
