Re: Dot's update...
I have been a naughty girl apparently
An area to the left of the op site has been a wee bit "aching" for the past week or so so I thought um I had better get this seen to just to be sure to be sure. Well my GP ex Physio tells me it is far too early for me to be doing half the things I have been doing and that I have strained some ligament so for the next 3 weeks I am not to do any forward bending
or lifting and I am to wear this wonderful back brace more than I have been. It has been so easy to be naughty because there has been no post op pain.
Yes I will be a good girl and behave.
But how useless does it make you feel though

You do need to be a good girl Dot, take it easy you don't want to end up having to have any more procedures, rest ,rest & more rest.

Yes I know but I thought what I was doing was within the allowable range. Hard to "take it easy" when you are feeling soooo much better than you were. Just had a call from the crew at 40 mile Beach, having their happy hr and eating freshly caught fush and planning their strategy of the clippers
They all sounded happy and having a good time. They did mention they were feeling the cooler temp of 16 deg o/night
. Brace is on and only the top shelf of the dishwasher will be my territory for a while and of course the stove top and oven (so he says)
I just had a thought that it might have been me determined to get my sock on my L) foot that did it? Lots of bending and twisting to do that job cuz Mr G wasn't here

How well do I know. I was feeling so good that I went out and rotated the tyres on the A'van the day before I supposed to see the operating surgeon (professor).Dot wrote:Yes I know but I thought what I was doing was within the allowable range.
My wound swelled up like a balloon and I thought I had set the progress back to square one. Didn't sleep much that night, but surgeon (professor) said I was good to go, which I could not believe. So over the moon was I. Dot, it is just so easy to do with all those drugs in ya and you don't even realise till you stop and think, oops, did I just do that?

Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.

Re: Dot's update...
Had some injections in L shoulder (hoping to ease stiffness & limited movement) on Thurs, and told "Take it easy for a week."
So of course, Friday I shifted the wood-heap... six (big) barrow-loads of firewood.
For some reason, my L shoulder is a bit sore today...
Know where you are right now, Dottie!

When I was 20 years old I thought I was ten foot tall and bullet proof. And most people my age probably thought the same thing. Now we are 3 times that age and still try the same things. Are we all still stupid or are the drugs just better now?
Cheers
