Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!
Hi Bagmaker,
Great to see you are keen to help your parents join the Grey Nomad fleet!
There have been some brilliant posts to help you/them.
My one suggestion is that you replace all AA and AAA batteries with rechargeable units, and buy a recharger with a 12v ciggie plug. These are available from Tricky Dickie shops (DSE) and battery shops.
Best wishes to you and your parents as they set off on what will surely prove to be the adventure of their lives.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Does anyone use an extra fuel filter for transits? I ask specifically as research seems to show the transits are a bit fragile in the pump/injector department, a great many complaints are online due to these components failing. Can they be better protected?
As an update, the MH is now residing in the driveway and being subjected to significant cleaning and personalizing.
All involved seem happy, even the youngest grand-child (my daughter) who has taken residence in the overhead sleep area and declared it her own for any travels that HER "Gran and Tom" may embark on.

I would recommend fitting one of these units, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/1409148 ... e&lpid=107 the filter cartridges are readily available, change both filters when the first one starts to look a bit dirty in the glass bowl, or every 10,000kms.

I would suggest not getting too hung up on planning for every little thing that could go wrong. If you are skilled enough to make the repairs on the road then I would think you are skilled enough to diagnose the defect and tell the roadside assist what they need to bring. Just get out there and enjoy.
Bagmaker - we've a 4ton bottle jack with which we level the bus by lifting up the motorhome body as required. Nobody's going to steal it ( the jack) and it ensures the jack's o-rings are lubricated. It also saves stuffing around with wedges.
Little tip - if you're doing this, leave the jack's bag and lever on the driver's seat! You know why.
