Yarragon Dump Point

Post by 2wander-yonder »

For those who have the CMCA Wanders Mate, and wish to use this dump point, please note that there is NO dump point in Yarragon Victoria. I havbe just walked past the location and it definately is not there.

Apparently they were going to put one in but the locals voted against it because it was planned to be next to a playground behind the shops. A new location has not yet been sourced.

Thanks for that and welcome to the forum. I'm not too sure how many people actually kept the Wanderers mate. I think I still have the full set of them, in mint condition still in their plastic bags, do you think they will ever become collectors items? ;)
Now you have made that first post, and you have mastered the Avatar, well done, hopefully you will share some of your travel stories with us.

Hi Andrew & Joanne
Thanks for letting us know about this. I have removed the entry from Geowiki and notified NHQ by email. I have also telephoned Alan at the Yarragon Visitor Info Centre to see if we can get this installed ASAP. It seems the locals got the installation stopped, but he was very keen to get the ball rolling again.

Any comments, suggestions, updates or questions about Geowiki can be emailed to geowiki@cmca.net.au at any time.

Again, thanks for letting us know so we can take action ASAP.

Thanks Bruce. If you get the chance tell him the best place would be at the football oval down Hazeldene Road.

Thanks,we are going that way next week, and looked up the dump points down that way. We are at Sunbury Victoria, and there are none around here, and caravan parks within 40 km do not have any either. The caravan park at Lancefield is supposed to have one, but when we got there, there was none to be found.Dump Points in Victoria are very few and far between.

I have been told that CMCA NHQ and volunteer NMST members are trying to get this dump point installed but Council seem to be very negative.

Not allowed to use the toilets at Ayson's Reserve to dump anymore.
Signs everywhere to advise and I think most people have obeyed.
After having over 100 people here for the whole weekend the area is spotless NO BINS LOL

Same here sorry it took us all weekend to find each other.
Need a sticker etc so we can walk past and identify each other.
Nice and quiet now about 15 vehicles here now.
